The VP, Field Development, P&C Delivery owns the vision, strategy, and execution of engineering delivery across the complex, high-performance, enterprise-scale projects based on Sapiens' global Property & Casualty (P&C) product suite. The role spans the global organization of Architects, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and developers embedded in customer implementation, SaaS migration and SaaS support programs. The owner sets enterprise-wide delivery engineering standards and governance, and partners with delivery leadership to enhance engineering quality across the insurance platform. The role combines strategic leadership, organizational and budget ownership, process and AI-led automation modernization, of field development engineering to scale a high-performing, accountable global field development function.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own the strategy, vision, and multi-year roadmap across engineering for all P&C delivery projects.
Build, lead, and scale a global, multi-site engineering organization, including Technical Architects, Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, and developers.
Own the engineering governance framework for development on P&C projects, including standards, policies, metrics, KPIs, and executive-level reporting on engineering status, risk, and release readiness across all P&C products and releases.
Champion Agile, SAFE and iterative delivery practices across the delivery organization, ensuring engineering delivers in an iterative way and with high quality.
Define and govern enterprise-wide adoption of AI-augmented engineering practices, including AI-assisted code generation, defect and failure analysis, predictive development insights, and responsible-AI usage standards.
Drive engineering excellence across the delivery organization: coding standards, design patterns, code review discipline, technical debt reduction, non-functional requirements, and release governance.
Build organizational capability through hiring, org design, career pathing, succession planning, and development of Managers and future leaders.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering culture and practices.
Must Have Skills & Qualifications
Experience & Background
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 20+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in senior engineering leadership (VP, Senior Director, or Head of Engineering) roles managing large, global, multi-site teams.
Proven experience leading scaled and skilled development organizations, across engineering for functional and non-functional engineering functions across multiple geographies.
Strong track record of building and scaling AI usage in engineering and design, AI-assisted coding, automated unit testing, documentation, and release agents.
Experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare or other complex, regulated enterprise software domains is strongly preferred.
Technical & Functional Skills
Deep technical grounding in Object-Oriented Programming, relational databases, design patterns, and system design fundamentals, with the credibility to engage at a hands-on level when needed.
Proven track record architecting, delivering, and owning complex, high-performance, enterprise-scale components and platforms.
Strong command of delivery engineering governance frameworks appropriate for enterprise-scale delivery.
Expert-level understanding of relational databases and SQL, enterprise integration layers, and performance-critical systems at scale.
Strong orientation toward performance optimization and reliability, including identifying and resolving bottlenecks across applications, databases, and integrations at an organizational level.
Executive-level communication and influencing skills, with the ability to represent engineering strategy, risk, and platform modernization progress clearly to senior leadership, clients, and the board when required.
Strong people-leadership capability, including building high-performing global engineering teams, mentoring senior technical leaders, and developing future engineering executives.
Clear, confident communicator in cross-functional and global environments, comfortable engaging directly with enterprise clients on strategic technical matters.
Demonstrated change-management and organizational-transformation experience, with the ability to align diverse global stakeholders around a shared technical vision.
