Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Tri​age requirements and strategically fulfil demand within scope.
  • Perform basic screening and support vendor selections.
  • Maintain spend and headcount visibility across entities.
  • Oversee on/off boarding, NTID creation/deactivation, asset allocation, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Coordinate with Vendors, Sourcing & Procurement for monthly accruals and spend reconciliation.
  • Deliver analytics and reporting on vendors, regions, and skillsets; track demand with predictive fulfillment.
  • Drive cost‑efficiency initiatives via vendor negotiations and third‑party cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Technology, Legal and other teams on vendor strategies.

Job Description: Role Synopsis

The VMO is a centralised contractor acquisition and management team, enabling incremental savings and streamlined vendor strategy. It offers end‑to‑end 3rd party lifecycle support, introducing transparency and consistency for all non‑employee labour spend. This VMO Analyst role is an important enabler to the ambition of expanding the VMO offering across all businesses and functions in the organisation.

Key responsibilities
  • Collaborating with the VMO Lead, the role will lead a team of up to 10 (internal and 3rd party) and will involve a blend of operational duties and project‑based tasks. Responsibilities include assisting in the day‑to‑day operational management of current processes; supporting cost efficiency initiatives and ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
  • The VMO Lead will handle entity specific demand (P&O, Technology, Finance etc) and scope, being responsible for the lifecycle management of at least 10,000 non‑employee labour.
  • The role will also be a key enabler in supporting the reduction of 3rd party costs (up to $100 million) with in the overall VMO ambition of supporting up to $500 million as part of bp's 2026 cost‑out ambition.
  • The VMO Lead will handle new demand and emerging scope from the respective entity necessitating program management. Supported by the VMO Manager this will involve consolidating existing demands, leading partnerships for the new scope, and allocating resources accordingly before implementing full lifecycle management.
  • Given the multiple concurrent initiatives seeking to demonstrate the VMO, it is important to ensure close program management and delivery within timelines and budget.
Key Skills

Key accountabilities
  • Triage – Requirement gathering and strategic fulfilment.
  • Basic screening and selection support.
  • Spend and headcount visibility.
  • On/Off Boarding – NTID creation / deactivation; Asset allocation / return; End‑to‑End lifecycle tracking; Administrative support; Monthly reconciliations.
  • Fulfillment Channels – Coordination with Vendors, Sourcing & Procurement; Monthly accruals and spend reconciliation.
  • Analytics and reporting – Analytics across vendors, regions, skillset; Demand Status Tracking with predictive fulfillment.
  • Ownership of cost efficiency initiatives on behalf of the corresponding entity – partnering with stakeholders to support the identification and implementation of opportunities for cost savings through vendor negotiations and optimizing third‑party costs (e.g., rate cards, vendor margins, worker locations, vendor rationalization, etc.).
  • Requirement for cross‑functional coordination across Procurement, Finance, Technology, Legal, and other teams to support agreed actions on vendor management strategies.
  • Close engagement with a diverse stakeholder group to align vendor strategies, cost targets, and priorities.
  • Establish appropriate governance and providing regular updates, analytics, and performance reporting to senior managers (typically VP and above).
  • Manage a small team (typically up to 10) aligned to a specific business or function entity.
  • Support efforts to educate internal teams on vendor management best practices, policies, and procedures, fostering a culture of effective vendor relationship management across the organization.
Essential education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Essential experience and job requirements
  • Overall 7+ years of experence with Minimum of 5years of experience in business/digital transformation, business analysis, or operations support, with a focus on Source to Pay processes.
  • Proven experience in supporting transformational change across multi‑disciplined, global teams.
