Role Summary:
The FP&A Lead will own financial planning, MIS, budgeting, forecasting, and channel/SKU profitability analytics for the company, working as the CFO’s closest analytical partner. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role responsible for translating business performance into decision‑ready insight for the CEO, CFO, and Group stakeholders, while driving cost discipline and automation across finance reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. MIS, Reporting & Business Partnering:
- – Own monthly MIS: sales, contribution margin, EBITDA and variance analysis, delivered within T+5 days of month‑end.
- – Prepare board‑ready decks for AOP presentations, quarterly reviews, and analyst/investor queries.
- – Partner with category, D2C, and marketplace teams to surface at least 3 actionable insights per month for management.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Management:
- – Lead the annual operating plan (AOP) process end‑to‑end, in alignment with CEO/CFO priorities and Group timelines.
- – Build and maintain a 12‑month rolling forecast covering revenue, EBITDA, and working capital, updated monthly for competitive shifts.
- – Drive monthly variance analysis vs. budget/forecast with clear root‑cause explanations and corrective‑action tracking to closure.
3. Channel & SKU Profitability:
- – Track and analyse profitability across D2C, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Meesho, quick commerce, and offline channels.
- – Monitor commission structures, logistics costs, discounting, and RTO/return costs by channel.
- – Maintain SKU‑level and channel‑level contribution margin visibility; flag margin leakage and pricing risks proactively.
4. Cost Optimization & Profitability Improvement:
- – Identify cost leakages across logistics, marketplace commissions, marketing spend, and procurement.
- – Drive cross‑functional cost optimization initiatives with a target of 1 – 2% annual contribution margin improvement.
- – Support pricing, vendor, and commercial decisions with structured financial analysis.
5. Finance Automation & Special Projects:
- – Build and maintain automated dashboards for MIS, channel profitability, and management reporting (Excel/Power BI‑based).
- – Drive at least 3 – 4 automation initiatives annually that reduce manual reporting effort and improve turnaround.
- – Lead ad‑hoc finance‑led special projects, including new‑channel evaluation, competitive benchmarking, and business case development.
6. Team & Stakeholder Management:
- – Manage and mentor a small FP&A/MIS team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables.
- – Act as the primary FP&A interface with Emami Group finance stakeholders on reporting and planning matters.
Qualifications & Eligibility:
- – CA / MBA (Finance) / CMA from a reputed institute. CA preferred given the reporting rigour and audit‑adjacent nature of the role.
- – 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, business finance, or financial planning roles.
- – Prior experience in a D2C, e‑commerce, FMCG, or consumer retail business is strongly preferred – channel and marketplace P&L exposure is not optional for this role.
- – Demonstrated ownership of budgeting/forecasting cycles and board‑level MIS/reporting, not just execution support.
- – Experience working with SAP or equivalent ERP; exposure to POS, Unicommerce (WMS), or similar D2C/marketplace reconciliation tools is a strong plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- – Advanced Excel (financial modelling, pivot‑based analytics) – non‑negotiable given the reporting cadence.
- – Strong analytical and structuring ability – comfortable converting messy multi‑channel data into a clean, decision‑ready narrative.
- – Working knowledge of Power BI or equivalent BI/visualization tools preferred.
- – Sharp commercial acumen – able to read a P&L and identify margin risk, not just report it.
- – Strong written and verbal communication; able to present directly to CEO/CFO and Group stakeholders without heavy hand‑holding.
- – High ownership and bias for structured, board‑ready output over ad‑hoc analysis.
