Job summary

JioStar is seeking a Product Visual Designer II for JioHotstar, based in Bangalore. You will craft high-quality visual identities and translate complex concepts into intuitive interfaces for mobile, TV, and web.

You will collaborate with product designers, engineers, and brand teams to elevate the product experience with typography, color, and illustration. You will lead visual language development, extend components, and work across formats including prototypes, presentations, and video assets.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional experience in visual, UI, or product design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing high visual craft across UI, illustration, iconography, graphics, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to take complex ideas from early visual exploration to polished, production-ready execution.

JOB TITLE: Product Visual Designer II, JioHotstar

LOCATION: Bangalore

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Product Visual Designer II, you will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and brand teams to shape visually distinctive product experiences for millions of users. You will combine strong visual craft with product thinking to translate complex ideas into interfaces and experiences that are clear, intuitive, and expressive. From high-fidelity UI and visual systems to illustrations, iconography, prototypes, and key brand moments, your work will elevate the quality and character of the JioHotstar experience across mobile, TV, and web platforms.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

Design is one of the key teams at JioHotstar. We have 3 key areas of focus - Product Design, UX Research and Design Standards. We are a closely-knit team of 30+ people at the moment, who work across the spectrum of design from deriving insight from data, designing interfaces and prototypes, and testing with users to motion graphics and illustrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Craft best-in-class visual identities and interfaces that are clean, legible, intuitive, and aesthetically distinctive through typography, composition, colour, iconography, imagery, and illustration.
• Partner with product designers to translate complex concepts, journeys, and interactions into visually compelling, high-fidelity product experiences.
• Create high-quality visual design across UI, graphics, illustrations, iconography, prototypes, presentations, videos, and other formats for product experiences, launches, and internal storytelling.
• Shape and extend our visual language, bringing brand expression into the product through scalable visual patterns, components, and guidelines across mobile, web, and TV.
• Collaborate with design, product, research, brand, and engineering from concept to production, ensuring visual intent and craft translate faithfully into the shipped experience.
• Leverage generative and assistive AI tools to accelerate visual exploration, concept development, asset creation, and production without compromising originality or craft.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

• Strong visual design fundamentals across typography, composition, layout, colour, hierarchy, iconography, imagery, illustration, and interaction design.
• Exceptional visual taste and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt across different styles and make complex ideas clear, relatable, and visually engaging.
• Strong product sensibility, with an understanding of how visual design can improve usability, hierarchy, comprehension, and the overall product experience.
• Ability to think systematically; creating visual patterns and components that maintain quality and consistency across products, platforms, and screen sizes.
• Versatility across UI, illustration, iconography, graphics, and brand expression, with an interest in extending craft into motion and emerging visual mediums.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate visual decisions and work closely with designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with generative AI, prototyping, motion, or 3D tools is a plus.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 2–4 years of professional experience in visual, UI, or product design, working on digital products, consumer brands, or within high-craft creative environments.
• A strong portfolio showcasing high visual craft across UI, illustration, iconography, graphics, or related disciplines, with the ability to adapt across visual styles.
• Demonstrated ability to take complex ideas from early visual exploration to polished, production-ready execution.
• Experience designing across mobile, web, or TV surfaces is a plus; motion or 3D skills are an added advantage.
