Job summary

JioStar is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead product design efforts for the JioHotstar experience. You will own end‑to‑end design across platforms, using user insights to drive iteration, and collaborate across cross‑functional teams to deliver engaging experiences.

You will mentor designers, translate business concepts into concrete design plans, and help shape the UX strategy while partnering with engineers and product managers through the design-to-production process.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in the design field as a Product Designer/Staff PD.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design is preferred.
• Strong UX fundamentals and visual design skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of new products, interfaces, and user experiences across multiple platforms.
• Use user insights to iteratively refine designs and optimize experiences.
• Articulate UX strategy and align it across the team through storytelling.
• Translate ambiguous opportunities into clear, actionable roadmaps.

Job Summary: As a Staff Product Designer within our product design team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the product experience for JioHotstar customers. Leveraging your full range of interaction, visual, and product-thinking skills, you will lead and own product features. Collaboration with cross-functional teams dedicated to revolutionizing entertainment and storytelling will be key to delivering engaging and inclusive experiences for our users.

About the Team

Design is integral to shaping the user experience at JioHotstar. We have 4 key areas of focus - Product Design, UX Research, Design Standards and Creative Studio. We are a closely-knit team of 30+ people at the moment, who work across the spectrum of design from deriving insight from data, designing interfaces and prototypes, and testing with users to motion graphics and illustrations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of new products, interfaces, and user experiences across multiple platforms
• Utilize user behavior insights and feedback to iteratively refine designs, ensuring continuous optimization and enhancement of user experiences
• Employ storytelling to articulate a vision that fosters a shared understanding of the UX strategy across the broader team
• Apply strategic thinking to translate ambiguous opportunities into clear, actionable roadmaps.
• Cultivate a culture of collaboration and creativity, providing mentorship and support to promote the professional growth of the design team
• Collaborate with Product Designers and Product Managers to define problem statements and develop project execution plans
• Work closely with engineers and product managers throughout the design process, from concept to production, to create user flows, build UI mockups, and develop prototypes

Skills and attributes for success

• An accomplished designer with a keen eye for quality design aesthetics, demonstrating a deep understanding of user experience and design principles that drive engagement and revenue growth
• Proficiency in translating abstract business concepts or requirements into tangible conceptual designs
• Exceptional design skills and a strong grasp of fundamental design disciplines (typography, composition, iconography, color, layouts, etc.), along with meticulous attention to detail
• Expertise in current best practices, developments, and trends across mobile and web platforms
• Ability to confidently articulate UX design rationale and lead conversations with teams and key stakeholders
• Experience in independently leading complex projects under tight timelines

Preferred education and experience

• Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent in Design preferred. Overall 6-9 years of experience in the Design field as a Product Designer/Staff PD.
