Cognizant is seeking a VisionPLUS Technical Developer to join our Pan-India delivery teams. The role centers on development, enhancement, and maintenance of VisionPLUS-based systems in the Cards & Payments domain, supporting upgrades and production issues.

You will work with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and CICS within VisionPLUS modules, handling batch and online processing, and collaborating with SMEs and QA for timely, high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VisionPLUS modules and mainframe technologies.
• Strong COBOL, JCL, VSAM and CICS skills within VisionPLUS environments.
• Good understanding of cards and payments domain (credit/debit/prepaid).

Responsibilities

• Perform development, enhancement, and maintenance of VisionPLUS applications.
• Analyze requirements and contribute to technical design and solution implementation.
• Develop, modify, and test COBOL programs and related components.
• Support production issues, batch failures, and defect resolution.

Vision Plus Technical Developer

Location: PAN India
_Exp: 5 to 9 yrs

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled VisionPLUS Technical Developer with strong hands-on experience in the Cards & Payments domain to support development, enhancement, and maintenance of VisionPLUS-based systems. The candidate will contribute to delivery across product enhancements, upgrades, and production support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform development, enhancement, and maintenance activities in VisionPLUS applications
• Analyze business requirements and contribute to technical design and solution implementation
• Develop, modify, and test COBOL programs, JCLs, and related components
• Support impact analysis for new requirements, fixes, and enhancements
• Handle batch processing, online transaction processing, and job monitoring
• Support production issues, batch failures, and defect resolution
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement fixes for recurring issues
• Assist in system integration, data migration, and upgrade activities
• Participate in requirement discussions and solution walkthroughs with internal teams
• Collaborate with SME, QA teams for smooth delivery
• Prepare unit test cases and support SIT/UAT testing cycles
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality guidelines, and documentation practices

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience in:
  o VisionPLUS modules (CMS, FAS, TRAMS, ITS, Rewards, Disputes, etc.)
  o Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS)
• Experience in:
  o Batch processing and online transaction processing
  o Enhancements and maintenance projects
  o Production support and defect resolution

Domain Skills

• Good understanding of Cards & Payments domain (Credit/Debit/Prepaid)
• Knowledge of card lifecycle processes:
  Authorization, billing, settlement, payments
• Basic understanding of scheme processing (Visa/MasterCard/Rupay)

Good to Have

• Experience with tools like Endevor / Changeman / File-Aid
• Understanding of Agile or Waterfall methodologies
