Job summary

Selectastro is seeking a creative Video Editor Intern to edit short- and long-form content for YouTube, reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, and our website. Prior internship or freelance projects and a strong portfolio are required.

You will work with the marketing team to storyboard concepts, apply color grading, adjust audio, and deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines. Potential for a full-time offer based on performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 internship or freelance editing experience.
• Strong portfolio or reel showcasing relevant work.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• Familiarity with After Effects or CapCut is a major plus.
• Ability to deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines.

Video Editor Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor Intern who already has hands-on experience editing short-form and long-form video content. If you have previously completed a video editing internship or managed freelance video projects, know your way around professional editing software, and understand visual storytelling, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit engaging video content for YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, and our website.
• Cut raw footage, assemble sequences, apply color grading, adjust audio levels, and add sound effects (SFX).
• Create motion graphics, text overlays, dynamic captions, and eye-catching thumbnails.
• Organize and archive raw footage, project files, and final exports efficiently.
• Collaborate with the marketing and creative team to brainstorm video concepts and storyboard ideas.
• Repurpose long-form videos (webinars, podcasts, interviews) into punchy, bite-sized social media clips.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Prior Experience: Minimum of 1 previous internship or demonstrated client/freelance experience in video editing.
• Portfolio/Reel: A strong portfolio or video reel showcasing relevant work (applications without a link will not be considered).
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or CapCut is a major plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong grasp of pacing, visual transitions, basic color correction, audio mixing, and export settings for different platforms.
• Creativity & Speed: Ability to stay updated on current social media trends and deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines.
