Qualifications

About the Role

KD Digital is looking for a creative Video Editor who can edit high-quality videos and design scroll-stopping thumbnails for ads and content platforms. You’ll work closely with the performance marketing and content teams to improve watch time, CTR, retention, and conversions across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Google Ads.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing & Production

• Edit videos for social media ads, reels, shorts, YouTube, and website use
• Create performance-driven ad creatives for Meta Ads, Google Ads (YouTube), and other platforms
• Edit raw footage into engaging, story-driven videos with smooth transitions and pacing
• Add text animations, subtitles, motion graphics, music, and sound effects where required

Thumbnail Design & Visual Optimization

• Design high-converting thumbnails for YouTube, ads, and social platforms
• Create multiple thumbnail variations for A/B testing
• Use strong typography, color contrast, facial expressions, and visual hierarchy
• Ensure thumbnails align with brand guidelines and campaign goals
• Optimize thumbnails for high CTR and platform-specific requirements

Performance-Based Creative Optimization

• Create multiple video and thumbnail variations for testing
• Optimize hooks, pacing, and CTAs based on performance insights
• Repurpose long-form videos into short-form clips with matching thumbnails
• Continuously improve creatives using engagement and CTR data

Creative Collaboration & Brand Consistency

• Work closely with performance marketers, designers, and content strategists
• Ensure videos and thumbnails follow brand identity and messaging
• Suggest creative improvements based on trends, competitors, and campaign performance
• Maintain consistency in color grading, fonts, and visual style

Asset Management & Workflow

• Organize project files, raw footage, and exports systematically
• Ensure timely delivery of videos while maintaining quality standards
• Follow internal workflows and revision processes efficientlyMaintain version control for multiple edits and formats

Reporting & Performance Feedback

• Understand basic video performance metrics (watch time, retention, CTR, engagement)
• Incorporate feedback from performance reports to improve future creatives
• Share insights on what type of videos perform best across platforms

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut Pro
• Strong thumbnail design skills using Photoshop / Illustrator / Canva
• Understanding of visual storytelling, hooks, and CTA placement
• Experience with subtitles, text overlays, and branding elements
• Knowledge of social media and YouTube format requirements

Must-Have Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut Pro
• Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual hierarchy
• Experience with subtitles, captions, and text animations
• Understanding of social media video formats and aspect ratios
