Job summary

42works in India is seeking an experienced video editor to craft high-impact social video content. You will edit Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn videos, and brand materials, focusing on engaging hooks and strong viewer retention.

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is mandatory; After Effects is a plus. A portfolio/showreel is required to demonstrate storytelling, pacing, and motion graphics skills.

Qualifications

• Experience editing social media videos (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn) and brand videos.
• Portfolio/showreel required.
• Adobe Premiere Pro is mandatory; After Effects is preferred.

Role & responsibilities

• Edit Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn videos, talking-head, promotional, and brand videos.
• Create strong hooks and engaging edits focused on viewer retention.
• Handle advanced cutting, pacing, B-roll selection, captions, sound design, SFX, music, colour correction, and grading.
• Create motion graphics, kinetic typography, speed ramps, transitions, keyframing, masking, tracking, and basic VFX.
• Independently make creative decisions on cuts, visuals, text, B-roll, music, and effects.
• Stay updated with social media trends and new editing techniques.

Preferred candidate profile

• Adobe Premiere Pro Mandatory
• Adobe After Effects Preferred
• Strong knowledge of video editing, storytelling, pacing, B-roll, sound design, and motion graphics.
• Good understanding of social media content and audience retention.
• Strong creative thinking and attention to detail.
• Portfolio/Showreel required.

Good to Have

DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, Adobe Audition, and AI tools such as Runway, Kling, Veo, Sora, ElevenLabs, Adobe Firefly, Topaz Video AI, OpusClip, Descript, or HeyGen.
