Job summary

BNY in Pune invites a senior data platform architect to design and implement enterprise Snowflake solutions that are secure, scalable, and high-performance to support business outcomes.

You will lead ingestion and transformation pipelines using Snowpipe, dbt, and Snowflake procedures, while applying medallion architecture and secure data sharing.

Collaborate with engineering, governance, and business teams to build robust data models, RBAC controls, metadata, lineage, and AI-ready data products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in designing Snowflake-based data platforms in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on Snowflake ingestion patterns including Snowpipe and secure data sharing via Snowflake Marketplace.
• Experience with dbt, Snowflake stored procedures, tasks, and dynamic tables.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, lineage, and data quality.
• Experience implementing RBAC and enterprise governance tooling.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Architect, design, and implement enterprise-scale Snowflake solutions that support secure, scalable, and high-performance data platforms aligned with business and technology strategy.
• Lead the design and optimization of data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines using Snowpipe, dbt, stored procedures, tasks, and dynamic tables to enable reliable and efficient delivery of data products.
• Define and implement medallion architecture across bronze, silver, and gold layers, leveraging Snowflake-native features such as materialized views to improve performance, reusability, and data accessibility.
• Enable secure and governed data sharing across internal and external stakeholders through Snowflake Marketplace and other Snowflake sharing capabilities, while maintaining strong controls around access and compliance.
• Drive adoption of enterprise data governance, security, and quality standards by implementing role-based access control (RBAC), metadata management, lineage, and data quality practices in alignment with organizational expectations.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, architecture, governance, and business teams to define scalable data models and architecture patterns that support both current and future business needs.
• Support emerging AI and advanced analytics use cases by contributing to architectures that integrate structured and unstructured data, including solutions involving AI chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), LangChain, and vector databases.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline; B. Tech or equivalent degree preferred.
• Extensive experience of 10+ years in designing and implementing Snowflake-based data platforms and architectures in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake data ingestion patterns including Snowpipe, and secure data sharing capabilities including Snowflake Marketplace.
• Proven expertise in data transformation and pipeline development using dbt, Snowflake stored procedures, tasks, and dynamic tables.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, data products, metadata management, business and technical metadata, data lineage, and data quality principles.
• Strong experience implementing data security and governance controls including RBAC and enterprise governance tooling such as Collibra.
• Good understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their integration with Snowflake ecosystems.
• Familiarity with modern AI/data solution patterns including AI chatbots, RAG pipelines, LangChain, and vector databases.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
