Deutsche Bank seeks an experienced IT professional to lead end-to-end engineering for core banking platforms. You will drive full-stack development (Java/React/Spring Boot) on cloud-native architectures, emphasizing reliability, scalability and secure delivery across regions.

Strong collaboration with global teams and adherence to DevOps practices are essential for success. The role requires 15+ years in IT with deep cloud and container experience, plus a focus on modern tooling and security.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in the IT industry with hands-on Java and SQL.
Proficient in full stack development (Java, React, Angular 8+, Spring Boot).
Deep knowledge of Google Cloud, OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes; exposure to modern build tools.
Hands-on development on Cloud-based full-stack applications.
Experience with Python is desirable.
End-to-end design and delivery experience; AI tools exposure preferred.
Strong testing: unit and integration; DevOps, CI/CD practices.
Messaging patterns: JMS, PubSub; REST/SOA integration.
Public cloud experience: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; IaC with Terraform.
Observability: Google Cloud Operations, NewRelic; code quality tools.

Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 Engineers (and growing!) across 30 countries. CB Technology supports these businesses through vertical’ CIO aligned teams and by ‘horizontals’ such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.
Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.

Your key responsibilities

Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability
Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.
Good team player over different geographies.
Promote and coach healthy communication in and around the team.
Strong communication with stakeholders
Take End to End responsibility from design to deployment through the environments all the way to production.

Your skills and experience

15+ years of experience in the IT industry with hands‑on in Java and SQL writing skills.
Proficient in full stack development (Java, React, Angular 8+, Spring Boot etc)
Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience in Google Cloud, OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes as well as exposure to a range of modern build tools, such as Maven, Jenkins
Hands on development experience on Cloud based full stack application.
Experience in python is desirable
Experience with end-to-end design and delivery of solutions
Experience in using AI tools
Passionate about test driven Agile development
Working knowledge of messaging (JMS, PubSub)
Experience with Messaging and integration, Patterns, REST, SOA
Strong hold on unit and integration testing
Practices: Code Quality, Sonar, Veracode, Security, dev ops, Agile, CI & CD
Hands on experience with a Public Cloud provider. AWS, Azure or – ideally - Google Cloud.
Familiarity with the components of modern cloud best practice:

Infrastructure as Code – With Terraform.
CI / CD using Jenkins, TeamCity, Github & Github Actions.
Kubernetes – ideally with Google Kubernetes Engine or RedHat OpenShift.
Packaging using Helm.
Experience with Anthos as Hybrid cloud setup.
Service Meshes – With either Anthos Service Mesh or, ideally, Consul Service Mesh.
Open-Source dependency management and CVE mitigation.
Observability using Google Cloud Operations or NewRelic.
GIT, JIRA, Artifactory and BitBucket

Comprehensive understanding of Code Analyzers/Linters and security fundamentals:

Certificates, keys and their management
Secret best practices and management
VeraCode. SonarQube, KtLint, Eslint etc.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
