Job summary

Apex Group is seeking a Head of Client KYC Projects – GCC to lead KYC related initiatives across the Group under the centralised client KYC model. This is a Vice President role reporting to the Head of Client KYC Operations – GCC, spanning regulatory initiatives, remediation and the centralised operating model.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional experience in financial services with a focus on client KYC.
• Bachelor or Master degree in accounting, finance or economics with relevant KYC/AML qualifications.
• Experience managing a large multi-jurisdictional team and senior stakeholder interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Client KYC projects team, ensuring alignment with the centralised operating model.
• Set strategic direction for KYC Operations and translate priorities into actionable plans.
• Oversee operational reporting from Group to individual Apex entities.
• Ensure data quality and presentation through Power BI, Snowflake and approved tools.
• Present updates to Apex stakeholders and governance forums.
• Drive automation and AI usage within KYC processes.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and strong controls.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Onboarding to maintain defence in depth.

We are currently looking for a Head of Client KYC Projects – GCC to lead KYC related projects across Apex Group under the centralised client KYC model. This is a Vice President role reporting to the Head of Client KYC Operations – GCC. The role spans various strategic initiatives including, but not limited to, alignment and centralisation, target operating model (“TOM”), re-platforming to optimal technology, regulatory focused initiatives.

Job Specification:

• Lead the Client KYC projects team, primarily located in India with secondary support in Mauritius, ensuring consistent delivery, strong controls and alignment with the Group operating model.
• Create and lead a dedicated KYC projects capability focused on regulatory initiatives, remediation activity and alignment to the centralised operating model.
• Set the strategic direction for KYC Operations, translating Group priorities into clear plans, measurable objectives and sustainable delivery standards.
• Take responsibility for operational reporting from Group level through to individual Apex entity level.
• Ensure data is readily available, accurate and presented in a standardised format through the effective use of Power BI, Snowflake and other approved reporting tools.
• Attend and present KYC project updates and progress to Apex stakeholders, governance forums and other applicable stakeholders.
• Drive use of automation and AI within KYC processes to improve productivity, data quality and risk detection.
• Adhere to all relevant client KYC standards applicable to Apex Group and local jurisdictions, ensuring requirements evolve in line with regulatory updates and compliance guidance.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation, including key operating procedures, inter-group service agreements, process flows, governance artefacts and control evidence.
• Work in partnership with Compliance, Client Onboarding and business stakeholders to maintain a clear division between first and second lines of defence.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex KYC cases, operational issues, regulatory queries and stakeholder concerns.
• Rollout periodic updates, training and communication to ensure the Client KYC projects team remains informed of policy, regulatory and procedural changes.
• Build, coach and develop a high-performing team.

Skills Required:

• at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in the financial services fund industry with a focus on client KYC
• Bachelor / master's degree in accounting, finance, economics and relevant KYC / AML qualifications
• Management experience, overseeing a large multi-jurisdictional team
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and a truly client servicing mindset
• Experience with client KYC technology solutions and platforms
• Good sense of teamwork as well as the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced work environment
• Process design, improvement and change management experience
