Job summary

SCIENTE is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to oversee APAC financial operations from our Bengaluru office. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory insight, and hands-on accounting across multiple jurisdictions.

You will drive close processes, financial reporting, and stakeholder collaboration with the executive team. Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in finance, 5+ years in IT services, CPA preferred, and a track record of delivering accurate reporting, cash flow management,

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing various accounting/financial operations, supporting primarily, the excellence in company’s APAC accounting operations, financial stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage various activities related to the full set of accounts of Singapore, Malaysia, India, USA;
• Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes;
• Ensure the compliance to Accounting best practices, year-end closing and support the end-of-year audit processes;
• Formulate the costing of services being offered from local and overseas locations;
• Governance of meeting the stipulated deadlines for various statutory/tax related transactions for various countries;
• Lead and mentor the accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department for individual entities.
• Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses. Present weekly reports to the executive team.
• Manage tax planning and compliance activities. Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other regulatory filings;
• Work closely with internal stakeholders & Clients to formulate Service Agreements/Terms of Business/Scope of Work (SOW) for professional services offered to clients and issuance of invoices accordingly.
• Take the responsibilities for regular cash flow management, financial planning/analysis, management reporting, risk management plan.
• Implement and maintain robust systems, policies, and internal controls to achieve excellence. Assist in internal auditing the accuracy, completeness of the documents and records (i.e. SOW, Invoices, payroll information, contract, etc).
• Manage the monthly processing and checking of time-sheets, payroll and reimbursement for billable project employees within the stipulated timeline.
• As and when required, lead/manage the end-to-end process in setting up overseas entity(ies) covering local taxation and regional labour laws etc. of overseas subsidiaries.
• Govern the activities related to company secretarial services as and when needed.
• Miscellaneous transactions to be managed as and when needed: ESOP, Tax optimisation, valuations, project costings, government grants, ESG reporting, internal IT system improvements/implementations, cross border transactions i.e. withholding tax, transfer pricing etc.
• Last but not the least, work with agility as a management lead catalyst for the growth of the business in an ever-changing environment.

Pre-requisites:

• Must have relevant experience in full set of accounts for APAC countries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years within IT Services industry and 3-5 years in a team management role.
• Someone with proven track-record of delivering most of the abovementioned responsibilities of the role.
• This role is a fairly hands-on role with a small team to manage to start with. Hands-on work experience in accounting/financial principles, practices, and regulations within Singapore/Malaysia/India/USA is required.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven execution skills to run accounting operations and financial strategies to ensure the desired "Accuracy and Turn-around time".
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software e.g. Tally.
• Ambitious with high level of learning agility, integrity and professionalism.

This is an on-site role, our office is located at Koramangala, Bangalore.
