Job description

Hiring Triangle, a leading recruitment agency in higher education, is seeking a visionary and accomplished Vice Chancellor to lead a prestigious private university through its next phase of academic excellence, institutional growth, and NEP 2020–aligned transformation. The Vice Chancellor will serve as the Chief Academic and Executive Officer of the University, responsible for strategic leadership, governance, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Institutional Leadership & Strategy: Define and drive the university’s long-term vision, mission, and strategic roadmap in alignment with NEP 2020 and national higher education priorities; foster excellence in teaching, research, innovation, skill development, and student outcomes; lead academic planning, program development, interdisciplinary initiatives, and international collaborations.
  2. Governance, Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure effective academic and administrative governance through statutory bodies such as the Board of Governors, Academic Council, and Executive Council; maintain full compliance with UGC and other applicable regulatory authorities, including accreditation frameworks (NAAC/NBA); oversee transparent, ethical, and robust academic and examination systems, safeguarding institutional integrity; champion university-wide digital transformation across academics, examinations, records, and administration; enable secure, tamper‑proof digital credentials aligned with NAD and ABC frameworks; promote data‑driven decision-making and institutional performance monitoring.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement & External Relations: Act as the primary representative of the university with regulators, government bodies, industry partners, international institutions, alumni, and the public; strengthen industry partnerships to enhance employability, research relevance, and skill‑based education; build a strong institutional brand and reputation at national and global levels.
  4. People Leadership & Institutional Development: Attract, mentor, and retain high‑quality faculty and senior leadership talent; promote a culture of academic freedom, innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement; oversee leadership development, succession planning, and capacity building across the university; work with the governing board to ensure financial sustainability, resource optimization, and strategic investments; support fundraising, grants, partnerships, and revenue diversification initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Distinguished academic credentials with a PhD and a strong record of scholarship, research, or academic leadership.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of senior leadership experience as a Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dean, Director, or equivalent role in a university or reputed higher education institution.
  • Deep understanding of Indian higher education regulations, governance structures, and NEP 2020 implementation.
  • Proven experience in institutional leadership, accreditation, regulatory engagement, and large‑scale academic administration.
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder management skills.
