Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. seeks an experienced Engineer in Vehicle NVH and Audio tuning to evaluate powertrain, road, wind and auxiliary noises.

You will identify root causes, calibrate audio systems, and perform objective and subjective sound quality assessments on in-car entertainment systems. The role requires 4+ years in automotive NVH or audio tuning, strong data analysis skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to implement countermeasures and improve overall sound

Qualifications

• 4+ years of automotive NVH experience required.
• Experience with NVH data acquisition and analysis.
• Knowledge of FRF, damping, resonance and tonal balance.

Responsibilities

• Instrument vehicle NVH performance evaluation and data collection.
• Perform vehicle NVH data acquisition on test track and analyze results.
• Instrument audio sound quality evaluation, calibration and testing of speakers, microphones and infotainment systems.
• Evaluate frequency response, THD and tonal balance of in-car audio systems.
• Conduct subjective listening evaluations using defined sound quality rating methods.
• Coordinate with other departments for audio tuning and problem-solving.

Functional Area: Vehicle NVH and Audio NVH tunning and sound Quality Evaluation

Job Role

• Vehicle NVH performance evaluation for powertrain noise, road noise, wind noise, auxiliary noise.
• Source identification, root cause analysis of NVH observations.
• Optimizing and calibrating audio systems to deliver high-quality sound performance.
• Perform audio tuning and calibration of sound systems (speakers, microphones, amplifiers, infotainment systems).

Educational Qualification

B. Tech or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Audio Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

Job Responsibilities

• Instrumentation for vehicle NVH performance evaluation.
• Vehicle NVH data acquisition on test track
• Data analysis and report preparation for vehicle NVH evaluation.
• Instrumentation of vehicle for audio sound quality performance evaluation, data aquation and analysis.
• Support problem solving and identification of countermeasure.
• Instrumentation of vehicle for audio tunning and Root cause analysis and identification BSR issue due to Audio.
• Evaluate frequency response, distortion (THD), and tonal balance of in-car audio system
• Conduct subjective listening evaluations using defined sound quality rating methods.
• Benchmark audio performance against competitors and internal targets.
• Coordination with different departments for Audio tunning.

Competency Requirements

• 4 or more years of relevant experience in the automotive industry in vehicle NVH or in Audio tuning and sound quality evaluation.
• Experience of NVH data acquisition and analysis
• Strong understanding of NVH including airborne TPA, structure borne TPA, damping, resonance and FRF.
• Deep knowledge of equalization , tonal balance, Distortion (THD), loudness, clarity, sound staging
• Understanding of Identification of Buzz, Squeak, and Rattle (BSR) issues of speakers.
• Hands-on experience with NVH instrumentation and measurement systems
• Knowledge of vehicle-level audio tuning methods
• Ability to perform audio tuning and sound quality evaluation subjectively
• Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capability
