Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services invites experienced professionals for a senior VMware/VCF architecture role in Chennai. You will drive lifecycle management, governance, and automation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and VCF environments.

The role requires extensive hands-on design and implementation experience with VCF architecture models, VCF Installer, and VCF Operations, including tenancy models and self-service patterns.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in enterprise infrastructure
• 10+ years architecting VMware-based platforms
• Deep expertise across vSphere, vSAN, NSX and SDDC Manager lifecycle patterns
• Strong design experience with VCF architecture models and fleet/instance/domain concepts
• Hands-on with VCF Installer and VCF Operations

Responsibilities

• Design VMware-based platforms and SDDC Architectures
• Define governance incl. RBAC across vCenter, NSX, and VCF components
• Lead automation initiatives using IaC pipelines (Terraform/Aria)
• Oversee VCF lifecycle, health, capacity, certificates, config drift, and chargeback

Key Skills/Knowledge:

• Lifecycle Management: SDDC Manager bundle planning, upgrade orchestration
• Operations: Health monitoring, logging, drift remediation, compliance, certificate/password management
• Automation: VCF Automation org design, templates, policies, approvals, IaC pipelines
• Governance: Identity and RBAC across vCenter, NSX, VCF Operations, and Automation

Experience required:

• 15+ years in enterprise infrastructure with 10+ years architecting VMware-based platforms; deep expertise across vSphere, vSAN, NSX and SDDC Manager lifecycle patterns.
• Proven design experience with VCF architecture models (management vs. workload domains, standard vs. consolidated) and fleet/instance/domain concepts.
• Hands-on with VCF Installer (new and converged deployments) and VCF Operations (health, capacity, LCM, certificates, config drift, chargeback).
• Strong NSX skills: micro-segmentation, DFW, routing/LB, VPC integrations inside VCF.
• Automation background: VCF Automation tenancy models and self-service patterns; IaC (Terraform/Aria).
