Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG in Bangalore is seeking an IT Expert Senior for VMware Infrastructure with 10–14 years of enterprise datacenter experience.

You will lead VCF environments, manage upgrades to VCF 9.x, and drive automation across VMware platforms. You will partner with Networking, Storage, Security, and Cloud teams to ensure high availability, performance, and governance of the virtualization stack.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of VMware Cloud Foundation experience.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise VMware environments with 100+ hosts.
• Experience performing production upgrades of VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN and NSX.
• Mandatory experience planning and executing VCF upgrades to VCF 9.x.
• Experience in infrastructure automation and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration and support of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX environments.
• Manage VMware infrastructure operations across production, DR, and non-production environments.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure lifecycle management activities using SDDC Manager.
• Lead end-to-end upgrades and migrations of VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX.
• Perform and support VCF upgrades to VCF 9.x in enterprise environments.
• Drive platform standardization, optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Manage VMware backup and recovery solutions with Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Develop and implement automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI, and VMware APIs.
• Lead troubleshooting and RCA for critical infrastructure incidents.
• Collaborate with Networking, Storage, Security, Backup, Cloud, Windows, Linux, and Apps teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in change management, maintenance planning, and governance.
• Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, upgrade runbooks, and diagrams.

Life on the Team

We are looking for a highly skilled VMware Infrastructure professional with 10–14 years of experience in enterprise datacenter environments. The ideal candidate must possess strong hands‑on expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCenter, vSAN, NSX, infrastructure lifecycle management, automation, backup technologies, and large‑scale VMware platform upgrades. The candidate will be responsible for leading VMware infrastructure operations, driving VCF transformation initiatives, and executing upgrades to VCF 9.x while working closely with cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on VMware Infrastructure Lead with extensive experience in VMware Cloud Foundation environments, capable of independently managing complex enterprise datacenters, leading VCF 9.x upgrade programs, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence across the virtualization platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead administration and support of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX environments.
• Manage VMware infrastructure operations across production, DR, and non-production environments.

• Perform and support VCF upgrades to VCF 9.x in enterprise environments.
• Drive platform standardization, optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Manage VMware backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication and enterprise backup integrations.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, PowerCLI, and VMware APIs.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical infrastructure incidents and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Collaborate with Network, Storage, Security, Backup, Cloud, Windows, Linux, and Application teams to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in change management, maintenance planning, and infrastructure governance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, upgrade runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
