Job summary

Computacenter is seeking an IT Expert Senior for VMware Infrastructure in Bangalore. The role leads administration of VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN and NSX, managing production/DR environments and planning lifecycle activities with SDDC Manager.

You will drive upgrades/migrations to VCF 9.x, optimize capacity and performance, and implement automation via PowerShell/PowerCLI. Collaboration across storage, networking, security, and operations teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 10–14 years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on administration of VMware Cloud Foundation and core components.
• Experience upgrading and migrating VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX in enterprise environments.

What You'll Do

• Lead administration and support of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX environments.
• Manage VMware infrastructure operations across production, DR, and non-production environments.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure lifecycle management activities using SDDC Manager.
• Lead end-to-end upgrades and migrations of: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vCenter Server, VMware ESXi Hosts, VMware vSAN Clusters, VMware NSX Infrastructur e
• Perform and support VCF upgrades to VCF 9.x in enterprise environments.
• Drive platform standardisation, optimisation, capacity planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
• Manage VMware backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication and enterprise backup integrations.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, PowerCLI, and VMware APIs.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical infrastructure incidents and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Collaborate with Network, Storage, Security, Backup, Cloud, Windows, Linux, and Application teams to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in change management, maintenance planning, and infrastructure governance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, upgrade runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

What You'll Need

• Mandatory Technical Skills VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vCenter Server Administration, VMware ESXi Administration, VMware vSAN Administration, VMware NSX-T, VMware SDDC Manager Lifecycle Manager (LCM)
• Mandatory Experience 10–14 years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of VMware Cloud Foundation experience.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise VMware environments with 100+ hosts.
• Proven experience performing production upgrades of: VCF, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX.
• Mandatory experience in planning and executing VCF upgrades to VCF 9.x.
• Experience in infrastructure automation and operational excellence initiatives.
• Strong experience in enterprise change management and upgrade governance.
