Job summary

Cyient Limited invites applications for a Functional Safety Governance Engineer in the Center of Competence. You will execute internal safety audits and ISO 26262-aligned assessments with high independence (I3) and ensure global consistency of FuSa work products.

You will define and improve FuSa processes, lead confirmation reviews, and stay ahead of evolving safety standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448/SOTIF, collaborating with global teams to protect the organization from compliance risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years in automotive functional safety with hands-on E/E safety exposure.
• Must have performed FuSa confirmation reviews and FuSa assessments.
• Certification: ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer (Required).

Responsibilities

• Execute internal safety audits and functional safety assessments at the highest independence level (I3).
• Execute confirmation reviews for FuSa work products like Safety plan, Safety case, Impact Analysis, HARA, FSC, Test concept.
• Define, maintain, and improve FuSa processes, methods, tools, and templates across the organization.
• Identify and elevate deviations from ISO 26262 to Management; drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor emerging safety regulations and trends to mitigate compliance risks.

Functional Safety Governance Engineer – Center of Competence team

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Execute internal safety audits, and functional safety assessmentsat the highest independence level (I3), ensuring ISO 26262 compliance and global consistency of core FuSa work products.
• Execute Confirmation reviews for FuSa work products like Safety plan, Safety case, Impact Analysis, HARA, FSC, Test concept and others.
• Define, maintain, and continuously improve Functional Safety (FuSa) processes, methods, tools, and templates across the organization in line with ISO 26262.
• Identify and elevate deviations from ISO 26262 to the Management. Manage lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor emerging safety regulations, standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 21448/SOTIF), and trends to proactively protect the organization from future compliance risks.

Key Skills:

• In-depth knowledge ofISO 26262:2018(Part 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 & 9) and related automotive safety standards and regulations.
• Proven experience conductingconfirmation reviews, FuSa audits, and functional safety assessmentsacross system, component, and software levels.
• Strong knowledge of safety analysis methods:FMEA, FTA, Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA).
• Familiarity with product development process areas: requirements management, SYS/SW/HW Engineering, and Verification / Validation.
• Analytical, conceptual, and methodical thinking; strong presentation and moderation skills.
• Intercultural competency and strong communication/networking skills for global team collaboration.
