Job summary

Deutsche Bahn’s Engineering & Consulting division seeks a Signalling Design Engineer with 6+ years of railways experience to join a global project team. You will contribute to CBTC, ETCS and TCAS design, prepare feasibility studies, concepts and technical notes, and support tender submissions.

The role requires strong AutoCAD/Visio/MicroStation skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple design and bidding tasks within international standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, and MicroStation latest version for railway signalling design tools.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in railways signalling design.
• Strong knowledge of various interfaces of Signalling System, Signal Engineering Manual, and relevant railway standards. Like CBTC, ETCS, TCAS and technologies.
• Self-Initiator, leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tender submissions under tight design deadlines.
• A valid IRSE Design License would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support in preparation of project documentation like Feasibility Study, Concept Design, Design Brief, Technical Note, related to Signalling & Train Control systems.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for signalling tenders. Perform cost estimation, BoQ preparation, and risk analysis for large-scale railway projects.
• The design and development of signalling systems for CBTC, ETCS & TCAS at High levels, ensuring compliance with international standards & other relevant standards and safety protocols.
• Support within the team on Signalling-related Design Work & Documentation, and ICD for implementation in between systems.
• Prepare supporting project documentation as required by the team/Project Leader.
• Participate in Weekly/Bi-Weekly/Monthly meetings as/when required as per Project Requirement.
• Preparation of S&T Documents like Signalling Plan, Control Table, Cable Plan, OMPD, BoQ, Headway Simulation, etc. & other documents based on the Project Requirements.
• The design and development of signalling scheme plans and LAP for UK signalling designs is useful.
• Undergo Self-Learning Activities and Transfer of Knowledge to Team.
• Provide functional support to multiple teams within the Design Engineering Centre.
• Support to the Bidding team by preparing technical proposals, methodologies, manpower forecasts, etc.
