Job summary

Alstom seeks a V&V Designer in Hyderabad to lead validation campaigns for embedded solutions, ensuring safety and reliability across subsystems and the full system.

You will design and execute test plans, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to test environments, tools, and traceability in a global context.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in verification and validation of complex embedded systems.
• Experience in requirement/functional-based testing on host and target-based environments.
• Proficiency in testing with NI Test Stand suite.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Knowledge of test life cycles, defect management, and debugging.
• Familiarity with tools like ClearQuest, Git, Rectify, and DOORS.
• Understanding of standards such as CENELEC SIL4 or DO-178B.
• Domain knowledge in railway signaling, avionics, or a similar engineering field.
• Programming skills in C, C++, C#, or Ada (Ada experience is desirable).

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your validation and verification expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, motivated, and innovative teammates.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality validation campaigns in real or simulated environments, ensuring the safety and reliability of our embedded solutions. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams across the business (system, project, product, quality, and safety teams), design and execute test plans, and contribute to the development of our advanced railway solutions.

You’ll specifically take care of functional testing at both subsystem and system levels, but also design and validate test environments and tools.

We’ll look to you for:

• Performing functional testing using NI Test Stand tools
• Designing overall test architecture, test cases, and test scenarios
• Executing test sessions and producing test reports
• Investigating and resolving defects detected during testing
• Specifying, designing, and validating test environments and tools
• Ensuring test traceability and compliance with software, V&V, and safety processes
• Contributing to workload estimation and scheduling
• Managing V&V work products under configuration management
• Collaborating with global teams and adapting to different geographical contexts

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering – IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in verification and validation of complex embedded systems

• Experience in scripting languages such as Python or Perl
• Knowledge of test life cycles, defect management, and debugging
