Job summary

Zensar Technologies is seeking a UX Designer Contractor to craft intuitive interfaces across desktop, tablet, and native mobile platforms. You will develop wireframes, mockups, and UX deliverables grounded in human-centered design, aligning with the design system and brand standards.

You’ll collaborate with product owners, researchers, and engineers to translate user needs into clear UX documentation and stories within Agile teams, presenting design rationale under guidance from senior UX

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of human-centered design process, web best-practices and related disciplines.
• Proficient with design thinking, systems thinking, and agile methodology.

JD - UX Designer Contractor (7-10 yrs)

This role supports the design of intuitive, high‑quality user interfaces across desktop, tablet, and native mobile platforms throughout the implementation lifecycle. It involves creating wireframes, iterative mockups, and UX/UI deliverables grounded in human‑centered design principles and insights from UX research to help articulate the intended user experience. The role ensures designs align with brand standards, the internal design system, and the end‑to‑end user journey. Working closely with Senior Designers, Product owners, researchers, content strategists, and business and technology partners, this role supports discovery and solution development efforts. It helps translate business and user needs into clear UX documentation, stories, and acceptance criteria within Agile teams, and presents design work and rationale with guidance from senior designers and UX leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of experiences during the implementation phase of the project, including the development of wireframes, mock‑ups and other project deliverables to illustrate the intended user experience.
• Design interactive user interfaces for complex mobile app journeys and f amiliarity working within design systems and its application to mobile environments.
• Present design ideas, including rationale based on research and best practices, to the product development team and other key stakeholders.
• Participate in peer design reviews/critique, giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of human-centered design process, web best-practices and relevant disciplines, including information architecture, interaction and visual design.
• Proficient with design tools, design thinking, systems thinking, and agile methodology
• Experience working with industry standard visualization tools and software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Mural, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
• Understanding of mobile interaction patterns (gestures, navigation models, touch targets)
• Experience designing for different screen sizes, orientations, and device capabilities
• Familiarity with app performance, loading states, motion, and responsiveness considerations
• Knowledge of accessibility standards for mobile (WCAG AA/AAA)
• Proficient prototyping and mockup skills to convey ideas and concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to clearly articulate creative concepts and rationale.
• Working knowledge of design fundamentals such as color theory, composition, branding, typography and web design standards.
• Ability to work in both waterfall and agile project processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• A portfolio of professional UX design experience for digital products or services.
• Experience with user centered principles and techniques including design sprints, co-creation methods, behavioural design and research, service design and research.
• Experience designing transactional or complex interactions with consumer and/or B2B platforms.
• Ability to interpret product requirements documents from a user-centered perspective.
• Working knowledge of usability testing and other research methods.
• Working knowledge of basic HTML/CSS and experience inspecting and validating QA/test environments
• Experience working with industry standard data visualization tools and software, including Tableau, High Charts, Power BI, etc.
