Job summary

Eide Bailly is seeking a US Tax Manager in Bengaluru, India, to lead US tax return engagements for partnerships, corporations, and individuals. This in-office/hybrid role requires strong technical knowledge, client communication, and mentorship of a tax team.

You will review complex tax returns, ensure accuracy, and stay current with evolving US tax laws while building lasting client relationships and contributing to the firm's growth in India.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of US tax return experience in a Shared Services or Consulting CPA firm in India.
• 1+ years in a Manager role supervising staff on US Tax.
• CPA/CA/EA certification with accounting/finance degree.
• Interest in US taxation career and regulatory knowledge.
• Familiarity with US tax regulations and policies.
• Leadership mindset to lead high-performing team.
• Knowledge of industries in US tax returns; knowledge of CCH Access Tax and CCH Engagement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review US tax returns for Partnerships, Corporations, Individuals and other areas including Estate and Gift, Trusts and Non-profits, W-2s, 1099s.
• Mentor and supervise tax staff to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Communicate with clients and the IRS as needed; build client relationships.

US Tax Manager

A Day in the Life

A typical day as a US Tax Manager in Mumbai, India might include the following, but is not limited to:

• Reviewing tax returns for Partnerships, Corporations, Individuals and other areas including but not limited to Estate and Gift, Trusts and Non-profits, W-2s, 1099s. Preparing Complex tax returns in above areas.
• Communicating with clients and Project CREs to obtain information for tax returns or other projects.
• Gathering relevant tax-related information from the US team and/or client ensuring completeness and accuracy of the returns.
• Review tax accruals and attend meetings with auditors regarding tax issues as needed.
• Managing client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
• Communicating with clients, the IRS and other business professionals as needed.Evaluating the costs, benefits, and risks of alternative solutions to client problems or needs.
• Performing tax research and other special projects as they occur.
• Capitalizing on personal and professional experiences to develop business and practice lines.
• Supervising and delegating duties to the tax staff in the team.
• Attending professional development and training seminars on a regular basis.
• Providing mentorship and technical training for employees in the tax department.
• Performing other accounting and tax related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Who You Are

• You have 7+ years of overall experience in preparing and/or reviewing US tax returns with a Shared Services or Consulting CPA Firm in India.
• You have 1+ years of experience as a Manager of staff preparing and reviewing US Tax.
• You have a Professional certification of CPA, CA or EA and are a graduate within the disciplines of Accounting and Finance. Post-graduation in the said disciplines is an added benefit.
• You have demonstrated an interest in a career in US taxation and are looking to advance in this field.
• You enjoy keeping up to date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
• You have a knack for solving problems, using your analytical skill,s and easily notice issues while bringing solutions to the table.
• You take pride in helping others, and you are ready to take on the challenge of leading a team of high-performing individuals.
• You have knowledge of and exposure to various industries in US tax returns. Knowledge of CCH Access Tax and CCH Engagement software is a plus!
