Job summary

Ceres Environmental Services, a leader in crisis management and disaster recovery, seeks a US Payroll Analyst to manage end-to-end US payroll with accuracy and compliance in Bengaluru. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in US payroll processing.
  • Hands-on experience in transactional payroll activities (data input, validation, processing).
  • Knowledge of US payroll laws, federal and state taxes.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing (preferred).
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar).
  • Understanding of payroll components such as earnings, deductions, and taxes.
  • Exposure to employee benefits deductions (health insurance, 401K, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end US payroll (weekly/bi-weekly), including data input, validation, and execution of payroll runs.
  • Validate payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, pay changes, time & attendance, bonuses, and off-cycle payments.
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll validations, handle payroll adjustments, retro calculations, and corrections.
  • Process tax withholdings, garnishments, and statutory deductions while supporting compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in payroll reconciliations, generate reports, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Address employee queries related to payroll, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll inputs and outputs.
  • Maintain payroll records, support audits, and ensure adherence to payroll processes and timelines.

Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting end-to-end US payroll operations with a focus on transactional accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, validation of inputs, and adherence to payroll controls and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Processing & Transactions:

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
Experience
  • 3-4 years of experience in US payroll processing
  • Hands-on experience in transactional payroll activities (data input, validation, processing)

  • Basic understanding of US payroll laws, federal and state taxes
