Job summary

Ceres India is seeking a Finance Manager to lead India finance operations, ensure statutory compliance, banking activities, audit support, and financial controls. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in finance with a controller mindset, hands-on India tax and regulatory knowledge, and experience coordinating with US finance teams in a GCC/global services setup.

You will partner with HR, Payroll, Operations, and external advisors to drive accuracy, timeliness, and governance across the finance

Qualifications

  • CA, CMA, CA Inter or equivalent finance qualification.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, controllership, compliance, or finance operations.
  • Strong experience in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, India statutory compliance, audit support, and banking.
  • Experience managing or reviewing the work of finance team members.
  • Experience working with US/global stakeholders or in a GCC/shared services environment is preferred.
  • Strong Excel, MIS, reconciliation, reporting, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage India finance operations, including GL, AP, accounting, intercompany, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Review financial schedules, journal entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and reporting outputs prepared by the finance team.
  • Provide oversight to Finance Specialist workstreams covering US entity close, reporting, consolidation, project accounting, and job-costing support.
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly MIS, balance sheet schedules, variance analysis for India.
  • Support Local GAAP to US GAAP reporting and reconciliation requirements as needed.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, documentation discipline, and audit readiness across finance processes.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation, intercompany invoicing, and related supporting schedules to ensure compliance, accuracy, and audit readiness

Role Overview

We are looking for a Finance Manager to support Ceres India’s finance operations and global finance requirements.

This role will be responsible for managing India finance operations, statutory compliance, banking, audit support, financial controls, reporting oversight, and stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of finance and accounting experience with a strong controller mindset, hands-on India compliance knowledge, banking exposure, and the ability to work with US finance stakeholders in a growing GCC environment.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Controllership & Reporting
  • Own and manage India finance operations, including GL, AP, accounting, intercompany, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Review financial schedules, journal entries, accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and reporting outputs prepared by the finance team.
  • Provide oversight to Finance Specialist workstreams covering US entity close, reporting, consolidation, project accounting, and job-costing support.
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly MIS, balance sheet schedules, variance analysis for India
  • Support Local GAAP to US GAAP reporting and reconciliation requirements as needed.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, documentation discipline, and audit readiness across finance processes.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation, intercompany invoicing, and related supporting schedules to ensure compliance, accuracy, and audit readiness
India Compliance & Audit
  • Manage India statutory compliance including GST, TDS, income tax support, ROC/secretarial coordination, and related filings.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, banks, payroll, HR, and external advisors.
  • Prepare and review audit schedules, reconciliations, compliance workings, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance calendars are maintained, and all statutory timelines are met.
  • Act as the India-side finance point of contact for audit and compliance-related queries.
Banking, Payments & Cash Flow
  • Manage banking operations, bank reconciliations, payment coordination, and banking documentation.
  • Oversee vendor payments, employee reimbursements, payroll-related payments, statutory payments, and intercompany settlements.
  • Support cash flow reporting, fund movement tracking, working capital visibility, and treasury coordination.
  • Coordinate with banks for account operations, approvals, documentation, foreign remittance support, and issue resolution.
  • Strengthen controls around payments, approvals, vendor documentation, and banking processes.
Team, Stakeholder & Process Management
  • Work closely with US Controllers, India leadership, HR, Payroll, Operations, and external partners.
  • Track close status, compliance risks, banking issues, audit requirements, and escalations.
  • Lead and support finance process transitions from the US or other global locations to India, including knowledge transfer, SOP creation, control setup, and stabilization of transitioned activities.
  • Identify process gaps and drive improvements in finance operations, compliance, banking, reporting, and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
