Job summary

AtkinsR alis in Pune is seeking civil/water engineers to support sewerage and drainage projects, focusing on hydraulic modelling and network design. You will contribute to model development, QA, and client deliverables while guiding juniors and graduates.

Applicants should have 2-4 years of water-sector experience, strong English reporting skills, and proficiency with GIS and modelling software. A hybrid work arrangement is possible.

• Bachelors or Masters in relevant water resources disciplines from a recognized university.
• 2-4 years in water and wastewater consultancy with project work in networks or hydraulics.
• Experience in sewerage/storm network modelling and drainage design.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software and GIS tools.
• Strong report writing and English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Join Atkins Urban Drainage Modelling team on sewerage and drainage projects.
• Handle modelling, design, and planning tasks with a focus on right-first-time delivery.
• Mentor graduates and technicians, supporting their technical development.
• Contribute to project QA and liaise with clients and internal teams.
• Implement innovations and automation in project delivery where possible.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking talented individuals for our Water Team to work on diverse sewerage projects that deliver sustainable benefits to communities and the environment. This role involves hydraulic modelling (1D-2D) and engineering aspects of wastewater projects.

Your role

• Work as part of Atkins Urban Drainage Modelling (UDM) team.
• Handle projects related to sewerage/storm network modelling, drainage infrastructure design, and planning.
• Ensure high standards and right-first-time delivery.
• Take ownership of personal and junior team members work.
• Support technical development of graduates and technicians through knowledge sharing.

About you

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Masters in Water Resource/Environmental Engineering from a recognized university.
• 2-4 years of experience in the water and wastewater consultancy industry.
• Demonstrable experience in network design or hydraulic modelling.
• Proficiency in design or hydraulic modelling software (preferably InfoWorks CS/2D/ICM, Windes, or Bentley suite).
• Knowledge of GIS tools (e.g., MapInfo, ArcGIS).
• Excellent report writing skills and fluency in English.

Desired Qualifications

• Value addition through innovations and automation in project delivery.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic and GIS automation (MapBasics, Python, etc.).
