Job summary

AtkinsRéalis India Private Limited seeks an experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join the Urban Drainage Modelling team in India. You will handle sewerage and storm network modelling, drainage design, and planning, ensuring quality and timely delivery while mentoring juniors.

The role requires a Civil/Water Resources background with 5+ years in water projects, strong modelling and GIS skills, and excellent report writing in English. Hybrid work options available; relocation support may be provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the water and wastewater consultancy industry.
• Demonstrable experience in network design or hydraulic modelling.
• Proficiency in design or hydraulic modelling software (InfoWorks CS/2D/ICM, Windes, Bentley).
• Knowledge of GIS tools (MapInfo, ArcGIS).
• Excellent report writing skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Job Description Overview

We are seeking talented individuals for our Water Team to work on diverse sewerage projects that deliver sustainable benefits to communities and the environment. This role involves hydraulic modelling (1D-2D) and engineering aspects of wastewater projects.

Your role

Work as part of Atkins’ Urban Drainage Modelling (UDM) team. Handle projects related to sewerage/storm network modelling, drainage infrastructure design, and planning. Ensure high standards and right-first-time delivery. Take ownership of personal and junior team members' work. Support technical development of graduates and technicians through knowledge sharing.

About you

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Master's in Water Resource/Environmental Engineering from a recognized university. 5+ years of experience in the water and wastewater consultancy industry. Demonstrable experience in network design or hydraulic modelling. Proficiency in design or hydraulic modelling software (preferably InfoWorks CS/2D/ICM, Windes, or Bentley suite). Knowledge of GIS tools (e.g., MapInfo, ArcGIS). Excellent report writing skills and fluency in English.

Desired Qualifications

Value addition through innovations and automation in project delivery. Knowledge of Visual Basic and GIS automation (MapBasics, Python, etc.).
