As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google Operations Center, you will serve as a strategic operational lead, responsible for orchestrating complex, cross-functional programs to ensure seamless execution and delivery. You will function as the primary bridge between technical teams and executive leadership, translating intricate technical challenges into high-level business insights. The ideal candidate will possess the capability to navigate organizational ambiguity, facilitate strategic alignment across diverse stakeholders, and provide decisive leadership during high-stakes product launches to ensure operational excellence.
Program Orchestration & Delivery: Define dependencies, clear operational bottlenecks, and track program velocity to ensure predictable delivery. Synthesize complex project tracks into a cohesive program roadmap.
Support for Critical Launches: Serve as the operational lead for high-stakes, time-sensitive product or feature launches. Establish launch readiness criteria, run “go/no-go” checkpoints, and create hypercare support plans for post-launch stability. Manage real-time risk mitigation and lead fire-drills when unforeseen blockers threaten launch dates.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface between working execution teams and executive leadership. Manage competing priorities across departments, aligning diverse agendas around shared program objectives. Proactively identify alignment gaps and facilitate strategic trade-off decisions with senior stakeholders.
Communication & Collaboration: Translate technical complexities into clear, business-focused updates for non-technical teams and executives. Establish standard operating procedures for status reporting, ensuring a single, accurate source of truth for the program’s health. Foster an environment of transparency, ensuring risks are flagged early and constructively.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Bridge organizational silos by facilitating cross-functional syncs, workshops, and retro meetings. Ensure resource allocations match program priorities across engineering, product, design, and operations.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in program or project management, ideally leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a physical or operational setting.
Methodology Expertise: Strong proficiency with project management tools and methodologies. PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certification is a strong plus.
Technical Experience: Basic knowledge of Java, HTML, and CSS, or equivalent Technical Program Management experience.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, communicating technical work to non-technical executive teams, with a proven ability to influence without authority and present to senior executives.
Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and pivoting quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
