Job description

Position: Unity XR/VR Developer (Contract / Short-Term Assignment)

Location: Chennai (Client Site - Onsite)

Duration: 3–6 Months (Tentative)

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Unity Developers with XR/VR development expertise to support the development of an Industrial Training & Simulation application for a global industrial equipment manufacturer. The application will be deployed primarily on Meta Quest 3 and will simulate pump, piping, equipment operations, maintenance procedures, HMI interactions, alarms, and interlock logic in a VR environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop VR-based training and simulation applications using Unity.
• Build interactive industrial workflows, equipment simulations, and maintenance scenarios.
• Integrate CAD models (STEP, Autodesk Inventor or similar formats) into Unity environments.
• Implement real-time or rule-based process/flow simulations.
• Develop HMI/PLC-inspired user interfaces and operational interactions.
• Optimize applications to achieve stable performance on Meta Quest 3 (72 FPS target).
• Collaborate with client stakeholders onsite in Chennai.
• Participate in design, development, testing, deployment, and performance optimization activities.
• Work within secure development environments and source control systems.

Required Skills (Must Have)

• 3+ years of hands‑on Unity development experience.
• Experience developing VR/XR applications using Unity.
• Strong understanding of C# programming.
• Experience with Meta Quest platform (Quest 2/Quest 3 preferred).
• Experience optimizing Unity applications for performance and FPS stability.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Ability to work onsite at client location in Chennai.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Experience with industrial training, simulation, digital twin, manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance applications.
• Exposure to CAD model processing and optimization workflows.
• Experience with AR/VR/MR technologies.
• Understanding of HMI, PLC, SCADA, process automation, or industrial control systems.
• Experience with CloudXR or similar remote rendering/deployment solutions.
• Exposure to user analytics and activity tracking frameworks.
