Job summary

MetLife is seeking a finance professional to oversee month-end close for the reinsurance group and support monthly reporting, governance, and analytics. The role involves coordinating with accounting entries, wire transfers, and balance sheet certifications, while ensuring adherence to GAAP and SOX controls.

You will help document workflows and prepare internal MIS and management reports for leadership review.

Qualifications

• Prepare management reports for higher management review.
• Compile data from ledgers and systems to prepare reinsurance settlements.

Job description

Description and Requirements

1. Month end close call to ensure all month end entries for reinsurance group has been posted.
2. Assist with monthly financial reporting, such as booking accounting entries, setting up wire transfers in Kyriba and balance sheet certifications. Ensure overall governance and highlight/escalate potential issue
3. Cater to STAT and GAAP requirement for reporting and analysis for reinsurance
4. Document administration and financial reporting workflows and recommend improvements to these processes where appropriate
5. Prepare internal MIS and analytics relating to reinsurance Inquiries highlighting resource utilization and turnaround time and provide tracking of audits (Reinsurance, D&T, SOX, and State exams).
6. Perform research relating to queries raised by reinsurers, auditors, etc. and assist with preparing timely responses
7. Prepare monthly reports summarizing experience under all reinsurance treaties for the current month/ YTD
8. Prepare CMMI documentation for audit and knowledge about PPM and other internal reporting is required.
9. Preparation of Management reports for internal review by Higher management.
10. Prepare periodic reinsurance settlements by compiling data from the ledger, direct administration systems, the reinsurance data mart, valuations and various other internal sources
