Job summary

Apex Group is seeking a Senior Associate to join its UK Tax Team. The role will be based between our major offices in Pune or Bangalore. You will manage a portfolio of business tax clients, ensure deadlines are met, and provide advisory support under Tax Managers while coordinating with related teams.

Reporting to Tax Managers, you will help with budgets, training, and risk management, while developing strong client relationships in a global fintech environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business tax clients including corporation and partnership tax return preparation.
• Ensure client deadlines are met and HMRC deadlines observed.
• Provide ad-hoc tax advice under supervision of Tax Managers.
• Liaise with team members across accounting, payroll, and compliance for smooth workflow.
• Maintain client contact and manage service delivery expectations.
• Assist Tax Managers on client budgets and targets.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to training.
• Identify and report client-related risks and assist with tax processes.

Job Specification

Apex is looking for a Senior Associate to join its UK Tax Team. The role will be based between our major offices in Pune or Bangalore.

• Responsibility for a portfolio of business tax clients, including: Corporation tax and partnership tax return preparation
• Ensuring client deadlines are met
• Ensuring HMRC deadlines are met, including filing deadlines and payment deadlines
• Providing ad-hoc tax advice under the supervision of the Tax Managers
• Liaison with other team members on accounting, payroll, cosec etc. to ensure adequate two-way flow of information
• Managing client expectations as to service delivery etc.
• Maintaining good client contact
• Provide assistance to other team members as required, particularly at busy times, such as the US tax team.
• Involvement in research and implementation of ad-hoc client related projects
• Upward management re. workflows, absences and other factors that affect client service
• Business planning
• Assisting Tax Managers on client related budgets and targets
• People Development First line on the job training of non-tax personnel
• Risk Management Identifying client related risks and reporting to Tax Manager
• Assisting with tax processes and control procedures for: Corporate/business tax returns Form P11D/PSA Form 42 Reporting into the Tax Managers

Reporting into the Tax Managers of Apex, the successful candidate will be expected to work proactively, independently when required, and as part of the Apex and wider Corporate Solutions team.
