Job summary

Paperchase Accountancy is seeking a detail-oriented UK Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for UK-based clients and employees. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in line with UK payroll regulations.

The role requires 2–4 years of UK payroll experience, expertise in payroll software such as Sage, Xero or IRIS, and strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, and auto-enrolment. Excellent English communication and high attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end UK payroll on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Handle inputs like new joiners, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and deductions.
• Calculate and process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.).
• Ensure PAYE, NI, and pension contributions are calculated accurately.
• Manage RTI submissions to HMRC.
• Oversee auto-enrolment pension compliance.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees/clients.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and company policies.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and liaison with HR/Finance.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end UK payroll on a weekly/monthly basis
• Handle payroll inputs including new joiners, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, and deductions
• Calculate and process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
• Ensure accurate calculation of PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions
• Manage RTI (Real Time Information) submissions to HMRC
• Handle auto-enrolment pension compliance
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
• Respond to payroll-related queries from employees/clients
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and company policies
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentationLiaise with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders as required

Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
