Job summary

Neeyamo Enterprise Solutions in Pune is seeking a UK Payroll Expert to manage end-to-end payroll delivery for multiple countries within scope. The role requires strong leadership, client-facing capabilities, and deep knowledge of UK payroll rules and compliance.

You will drive process improvements, document country-specific payroll processes, and lead automation initiatives to minimize manual work while ensuring accuracy and timely payroll operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of UK payroll experience.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to drive automation and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented with ability to manage complex client environments.

Responsibilities

Location: Pune

Work Mode: Work from office (Monday to Friday)


Role Overview

The Payroll specialist will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll delivery and implementation for the assigned countries / cluster. This role requires leadership, client-facing capabilities, and expertise in understanding payroll processing rules & compliances. The Payroll specialist will ensure seamless payroll operations, implementations and migrations, continuous process improvements, and high levels of client satisfaction across all countries under their scope .The role includes managing country leads, process experts, and ensuring the development of in-house payroll capabilities.


1. Payroll Delivery & Operational Excellence
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll delivery for the assigned countries / cluster, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Monitor regional payroll operations to maintain seamless service across all countries in scope.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure effective management of payroll exceptions and timely resolution through a structured governance framework.

2. Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain and regularly update country-specific payroll compliance documentation as regulations evolve.
  • Ensure all payroll processes adhere to local statutory requirements and internal control frameworks.

3. Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities for automation to minimize manual intervention and enhance process reliability.
  • Lead initiatives that streamline workflows, reduce errors, and drive operational efficiency.

4. Knowledge Management
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all country-specific payroll processes, statutory rules, and best practices.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of knowledge repositories and ensure effective knowledge transfer across teams.

5. Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage and develop a team of Country Leads and Process Experts, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Build in-house payroll processing and auditing capabilities within each country team within six to nine months of operations.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition for hiring country leads and processing experts as required.
  • Lead ongoing talent development, capability building, and succession planning for the payroll function.

6. Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for clients within the region.
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure exceptional client satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, Compliance, Finance, and Technology for seamless payroll operations.

Qualification & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in UK payroll.
  • Strong understanding of UK country payroll processes, statutory compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to drive automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to manage complex client environments.
