Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist to join the production support team in Pune. You will resolve live incidents, drive problem management, and implement automation for complex financial systems.

The role requires strong SQL/Unix skills and hands-on experience with AppD, Splunk, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Willingness to work UK/US shifts and participate in weekend releases is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with SQL, Unix and stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience with AppD, Splunk, Control-M, Docker, Kubernetes and messaging systems.
• Experience in building automated CI/CD pipelines and cloud/DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide full scope of day-to-day production support incl. incident resolution and post-resolution problem management.
• Offer workarounds and resolutions; participate in crisis calls.
• Root-cause analysis of major system problems; technical inputs from business/ops needs.
• Contribute to automation and production support concepts.
• Ensure adherence to group compliance and best practices.
• Create batch plans; support weekend releases and production change orders; assist testing for new implementations.
• Review, design, and re-engineer processes using new tech to improve performance.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

• Providing full scope of the day-to-day Production Support service including resolution of the live incidents as well as post-resolution problem management activities.
• To provide workarounds/resolutions with Active participation in crisis calls.
• Technical expertise in finding root cause of major system problems - inputs based on business/operations requirements.
• Participate and contribute in implementing automations/new production support concepts in the team.
• Ensuring use of best practices are followed by complying with Group Compliance Policy.
• Creating batch plans and supporting weekend releases, raising production change orders, support of the various testing activities related to the new implementations.
• Be part of Reviewing, designing and re-engineering processes with new technologies to improve performance

To be successful, you will:

• Strong analytical skills/Troubleshooting/debugging SQL, Unix and Stored Procedures. Hands-on experience on tools like App D / Splunk / Control-M /Docker/ Kubernetes/ Kafka/ Rabbit MQ/ PostGres / JIRA.
• Experience of high frequency change, specifically adoption, engineering and execution of automated CICD pipelines.
• Roles that rooted in cloud hosting and automation infra as code and the emphasis is on scripting and (cloud-based) solution design.
• Understanding of Unix and Shell scripting. Strong Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support. Good communication skills and be able to efficiently communicate in the production/crisis calls.
• Understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
• Experience in Liquidity domain.
• Open to working in UK/US shift, weekends and to be on-call support after office hours on need basis (Rotational)
• Ready to take up and support multiple services across production Engineering world to support them technology basis rather functional
