Job summary

Ethosglobal People Advisory Llp in India is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic studies, modeling, and simulation for major international infrastructure projects with travel to client sites in the Middle East.

The role requires a Master’s in Civil/Transportation Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and hands-on use of VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA, VISUM/TRANSCAD, and MicroStation, plus strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in civil or transportation engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation modeling.
• Minimum 3 international projects involving traffic studies or modeling.
• 8+ years with traffic simulation software such as VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA.
• 8+ years with demand modeling software VISUM and/or TRANSCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of MicroStation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience applying Highway Capacity Manual procedures in traffic studies.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze demographic, land use, traffic count, and travel speed data for condition assessments.
• Conduct capacity analysis for intersections and roadways with standard software.
• Write scripts in Excel or other languages for data analysis.
• Prepare and analyze land use data to support demand modeling.
• Perform demand modeling for traffic impact and corridor studies.
• Carry out traffic simulation tasks for projects of varying complexity.
• Develop engineering calculations and maps.
• Identify and evaluate mitigation measures and alternatives.
• Prepare technical reports presenting traffic analysis and modeling findings.
• Collaborate with Highway Design and CAD teams on traffic-related design issues.
• Travel to client Middle East offices as required.

This role supports transportation projects across the Middle East and USA, working under light supervision to deliver traffic studies, transportation modeling, and simulation work for major international infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze demographic, land use, traffic count, and travel speed data for existing and future condition assessments
• Conduct capacity analysis for intersections and roadways using industry-standard software
• Write scripts in Excel or other programming languages for data analysis
• Prepare and analyze land use data to support demand modeling work
• Conduct demand modeling tasks for traffic impact studies and corridor studies, including network updates, model assignment runs, and results extraction
• Conduct traffic simulation tasks for projects of varying complexity, including network building/updates, coding model parameters, running simulations, and extracting results
• Develop engineering calculations and maps
• Identify and evaluate mitigation measures and project alternatives.
• Prepare technical reports presenting traffic analysis, modeling, and simulation findings
• Collaborate closely with Highway Design and CAD teams on traffic-related design issues
• Travel to the client's Middle East offices as required, collaborating with on-site project teams

Desired Candidate Profile

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering from an accredited university
• 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation modeling
• Minimum 3 international projects involving traffic studies or modeling
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with traffic simulation software: PTV VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with demand modeling software: PTV VISUM and/or TRANSCAD
• Strong working knowledge of MicroStation
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience applying Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) procedures in traffic studies
• Education: M.Tech / M.E. / M.S. in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering
