Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Transmission Line Designer - MBI in Mumbai, India. The role involves producing Plan & Profile drawings, permitting, and structure framing/loading designs to support engineers, using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related CADD tools.

You will handle rough sketches and detailed work, incorporate client markups, and coordinate with engineers to ensure accurate, regulatory-compliant designs. Travel and multi-project prioritization may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Diploma, or ITI in Civil/Electrical with relevant drafting/CADD experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Microsoft Office Suite and drafting AutoCAD.
• Proven verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings (Plan & Profile, permits) and load drawings to support engineers.
• Create rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.

• Prepare, review, and redraft with the engineering team.

Transmission Line Designer - MBI

Job Responsibilities

• The preparation of engineering drawings like Plan & Profile, permitting, assembly and structure framing/loading drawings, reports and designs to support engineers.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
• Picking up the markups as per the client requirement.
• Communicating with engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
• Work independently but with some engineering guidance on complex projects
• Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations.
• Identifying and communicating potential design/drafting problems to the rest of the team.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients.
• Ownership responsibility on the assigned work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Diploma in Civil/Electrical with 1-10 years of experience OR ITI in Civil/Electrical with 3-10 years of experience as CADD designer.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Microsoft Office Suite and drafting AutoCAD.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Proven verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of overhead transmission line construction methods is preferable
• Experience with various CADD tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation, Google Earth, Revit, Civil3D.
• Knowledge regarding survey, easements, right-of-way, and permitting.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients both locally and worldwide.
