Job summary

Consortio RG Ltd seeks an experienced Training Superintendent to lead maritime training in Mumbai, developing and delivering programmes for seagoing and shore-based personnel while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.

You will prepare and review courses, manage the annual training plan, maintain simulators, and support audits, driving continuous improvement across training facilities and the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior sailing experience or 2+ years in maritime education.
• IMO Model Course 6.09 certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of STCW and maritime legislation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive maritime training programmes for seagoing and shore-based personnel.

Our client is an established international ship management business with a strong presence across the global maritime industry, providing high-quality ship management and training services to both seagoing and shore-based personnel. With a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and continuous development, the company is committed to ensuring its people maintain the highest professional standards while supporting the safe and efficient operation of its fleet.

They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Training Superintendent to join their team in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive maritime training programmes for both seagoing and shore-based personnel, ensuring training remains aligned with company objectives, quality standards and industry requirements. Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing training courses, evaluating and assessing seafarers, developing the annual training plan, maintaining training equipment and simulators, supporting internal and external audits, and continuously improving training programmes, facilities and quality systems. The role will also involve working closely with operational, technical and crewing departments, participating in crew seminars, collaborating with external training providers and undertaking vessel visits or sailing assignments to maintain practical industry knowledge.

The requirements for this role are:

• At least 5 years' experience in a senior sailing position or a minimum of 2 years' experience within a maritime educational role
• MUST have IMO Model Course 6.09 (VICT/TOTA) certification
• Comprehensive understanding of maritime legislation and training requirements
• Strong working knowledge of STCW standards
• Understanding of adult learning methodologies and emerging maritime training trends
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English and applicable local languages
