Job summary

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a relevant field with emphasis on social development.
  • 5-6 years of experience in training, education, or community development projects.
  • Experience in skill development or livelihood programs preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Training Coordination: Plan and coordinate training sessions; prepare yearly calendar; support trainers; design modules on gender, agriculture, social mobilization and other themes; ensure materials are available; monitor attendance and progress.
  • Community Mobilization & Trainee Support: Conduct outreach to mobilize trainees; counsel on career paths; address concerns; raise awareness of internships and induction programs for new staff.
  • Center Administration & Reporting: Maintain attendance and trainee records; prepare weekly/monthly reports; manage budget utilization and expense reports; ensure timely billing and financial reports; oversee facilities and equipment upkeep.
  • Stakeholder & Placement Linkages: Liaise with local institutions, government departments, NGOs, and industry partners; explore opportunities with other agencies; facilitate exposure visits and job placement support; build entrepreneurship linkages.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Training Centre Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all activities of the training centre, ensuring smooth implementation of training programs, mobilizing participants, maintaining records, and supporting trainers and trainees. The role requires excellent organizational skills, community engagement abilities, and commitment to delivering impactful training for youth, women, and community members.

Key Responsibilities
1. Training Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate training sessions as per the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with other project leaders to prepare the yearly calendar for mandatory and staff development/improvement training.
  • Support trainers in the delivery of training modules.
  • Create and help design training modules on gender, agriculture, social mobilization, PRA, and other thematic areas.
  • Ensure timely availability of training materials and resources.
  • Monitor participant attendance, progress, and performance.
2. Community Mobilization & Trainee Support
  • Conduct outreach activities to mobilize trainees from nearby communities.
  • Counsel and guide trainees on career pathways and training relevance.
  • Address participant concerns and maintain high retention rates.
  • Create awareness of internship programs, induction programs for new Staff, and orient them on the core values of AKRSP(I).
3. Center Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain attendance, trainee records, and training-related documentation.
  • Prepare and share weekly/monthly reports with the project team.
  • Maintain budget utilization and expense reports for the training center.
  • Ensure proper, timely, and error-free billing, collection reports, payment reports, and other required reports.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of the training center facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of training aids, classrooms, and utilities.
4. Stakeholder & Placement Linkages
  • Liaise with local institutions, government departments, NGOs, and industry partners.
  • Explore opportunities with other NGOs/Government agencies to conduct training at the center, prepare a year-round calendar, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Facilitate exposure visits, guest lectures, and job placement support.
  • Build linkages for entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities for trainees.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Masters in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Management, or related field
  • 5-6 years of experience in training, education, or community development projects
  • Experience in skill development or livelihood promotion programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of crop management, irrigation technologies, soil & water conservation, and FPO strengthening, Gender and government schemas.
  • Proficiency in local language and MS Office/Excel.
