Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India in Mumbai is seeking an entry-level piping engineer to join our Water Global Practice. You will assist in piping design, review P&IDs, and support 3D modeling using Plant 3D, Revit, or SP3D under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will learn company standards, codes such as ASME and API, and help develop technical competence while supporting project execution. You'll contribute to worldwide projects, travel to the United States upon request, and collaborate with design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institute.
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
• Passing out as part of the 2027 batch only.
• Proficient in the English language.
• Prior internships in Piping are preferred.
• MS-Office, AutoCAD and other tools knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in updating piping deliverables.
• Review P&IDs and equipment layouts to understand piping routing requirements.
• Support 3D piping modeling using Plant 3D, Revit, or SP3D depending on project requirements.
• Coordinating project design assignments and design teams.
• Reviewing vendor drawings.
• Perform basic quality checks on drawings before they are issued for review.

• You'll report to department manager.
• Work on exciting projects related to piping design & engineering.
• And these projects aren't limited to a local scale; they are positioned globally, reflecting our worldwide impact.
• You'll be a part of our vibrant Water Global Practice and work to build technical competence while supporting project execution under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.
• Learn company standards, client specifications, and applicable codes such as ASME, API
• Develop an understanding of the complete piping engineering and design workflow.
• Assist in preparing and updating piping deliverables.
