Job description

a. Provide operational support to the team on matters related to development of services or infrastructure facilities for ensuring smooth traffic movement and integration of transport systems in CMA.

b. The key responsibilities include:

1. Plan and design for the transport related infrastructure i.e., junctions, traffic circulation plan, corridor design, bus terminals, MMI etc. to improve traffic flow for safety and efficiency of transportation system.
2. Provide assistance in carrying out the activities related to urban transport especially related to designing and assessing the impacts of transport infrastructure facilities.
3. Model transport scenarios to evaluate the impacts of activities such as new developments, etc.
4. Review and assess transport related plans/drawings.
5. Assist in developing standards and guidelines for the transport system/infrastructure.
6. Provide operational assistance in carrying out surveys, research, studies and awareness about good practices in urban transport.
7. To Provide inputs in designing of roads to improve safety, Traffic Circulation, Junction Improvement and streetscape projects and other highway alignment related works.
8. To support in developing agenda notes, Minutes of Meeting and implement decisions taken thereon.
9. To assist Authority in assessing policies of the Government that will impinge on Urban Development and Transportation and suggest recommendations to overcome the same.
10. To ensure functional excellence in the fulfillment of tasks.
11. To perform any other role that may be assigned by Member Secretary / Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Requirements

Qualification and Work Experience: a. Undergraduate in Civil Engineering and Post graduation in Traffic & Transportation Engineering or relevant qualification. b. Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Traffic Engineering, Traffic Impact Assessment, Junction Design, Traffic Management Plans etc., and relevant transport related projects. c. Should have mandatory working knowledge in simulation software (VISSIM or other micro simulation software). d. Proficiency to analyse the data. e. Age as on closing date of advertisement is Not more than 45 years. Forexceptionally deserving candidates, age is not a limiting factor. Desirable Competencies: a. Experience in Transport Infrastructure related Detailed Project Report preparation. b. Experience in Micro and Meso Modelling using Vissim / Bentley Dynamic Q. c. Experience in Traffic Impact Assessment. d. Experience in Junction Improvement Designs. e. Experience in Street Design. f. Experience in Major Transport Infrastructure design and implementation. g. Strong conceptual, analytical skills with clarity of thought process. Problem -solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines. h. Excellent organizational skills, Ability to work in a team. i. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely convey necessary information, explain the reasoning and support conclusions using data and facts. Excellent skills in computer and report documentation. j. Candidacy by women meeting such qualifications is encouraged. k. Working knowledge of Tamil.
