Job description

Responsibilities

To be responsible for all urban planning related initiatives / activities taken upby CUMTA.
To lead and spearhead urban planning aspects of different studies pertainingto Urban Mobility in CMA.
To assist CUMTA with integrated planning of land use and Transportation.
To assist the members of the Authority for all the activities related to urbanplanning & development strategies.
To undertake various functions and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in theimplementation of the works of the Authority.
To provide operational support on all matters related to planning.
To support in the development of legislature, policies, guidelines, frameworkand strategies related to urban planning and urban design.
To assist CUMTA in developing location specific mobility solutions.
To Provide inputs in designing of roads to improve safety, Traffic Circulation,Junction Improvement and streetscape projects and other highway alignmentrelated works.
To support in developing agenda notes, Minutes of Meeting and implementdecisions taken thereon.
To apply urban planning and design approach to integrate mobility, land useand streetscape to ensure comprehensive development.
To assist Authority in assessing policies of the Government that will impinge onUrban Development and Transportation and suggest recommendations toovercome the same.
To ensure functional excellence in the fulfillment of tasks.
To perform any other role that may be assigned by Member Secretary / ChiefOperating Officer (COO).

Requirements

Should be an Undergraduate in Civil Engineering / Architecture / Equivalent from Reputed University and Postgraduate in Urban Planning / City Planning / TownPlanning / Town & Country Planning / Regional Planning.
Should have at least 4 years of work experience in Urban Planning / TransportPlanning.
Should have working knowledge in GIS and AutoCAD.
Should have experience in development of Mobility Plans, Master Plans, (GISbased Master Plan is desirable), Town Planning Schemes and DetailedDevelopment Plans etc.

Desirable Competencies

Experience in Master Plan, Detailed Development Plan, Transit OrientedDevelopment Plan and Town Planning Schemes.
Experience in Infrastructure Planning and Implementation.
Experience in Major Transport Infrastructure design and implementation.
Experience in preparation of urban planning & urban design proposals,streetscape designs, public realm projects, station area plans, MultimodalIntegration Plans, Signage Plans and TOD & area-based development plans isdesirable.
Understanding of human centred design to translate planning and transportconcepts to design-led implementable solutions to work at city to street levelscale.
Strong GIS and Data Analytics skills.
Strong conceptual, analytical skills with clarity of thought process. Problem -solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills, Ability to work in a team.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely conveynecessary information, explain the reasoning and support conclusions usingdata and facts. Excellent skills in computer and report documentation.
