Job summary

Shivtirth Civil invites applications for a Transportation Engineer to join our roads and urban mobility projects in Navi Mumbai. You will support planning, design, simulation and project preparation for road and transport infrastructure using industry tools and IRC/MoRTH norms.

The role involves preparing DPRs, performing geometric design, running microsimulations with PTV Vissim, and coordinating with survey, structural and traffic teams to deliver quality outputs on time.

Qualifications

• Experience in road/urban transport projects with IRC/MoRTH norms.
• Proficiency in PTV Vissim for microsimulation and design evaluation.
• AutoCAD, MS Office; Civil 3D or MX Road is a plus.
• Awareness of estimation, quantity take-off and BOQ preparation.
• Familiarity with PTV Visum or similar transport planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies and DPRs for roads, bridges and urban transport.
• Carry out geometric design of roads and intersections per IRC/MoRTH norms.
• Use PTV Vissim to simulate and evaluate designs including pedestrians and PT.
• Support transport planning studies: travel demand, PT, NMT, parking and mobility.
• Do pavement design and prepare BOQ and cost estimates.
• Review survey data, drawings and designs; ensure code compliance.
• Prepare technical proposals, tender documents and bids.
• Coordinate with survey, structural and traffic teams and authorities.
• Visit sites to inspect progress and quality of road projects.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Transportation Engineer to support planning, design, simulation and project preparation for roads, urban mobility and transport infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare feasibility studies and detailed project reports (DPRs) for roads, bridges and urban transport projects
• Carry out geometric design of roads, intersections and urban streets as per IRC/MoRTH norms
• Use PTV Vissim to simulate and evaluate proposed road, junction and corridor designs, including pedestrian and public transport movements
• Support transport planning studies: travel demand analysis, public transport, NMT/pedestrian facilities, parking and mobility plans (PTV Visum knowledge is a plus)
• Do pavement design (flexible and rigid) and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates
• Review survey data, drawings and designs; ensure compliance with codes and standards
• Prepare technical proposals, tender documents and bid submissions
• Coordinate with survey, structural and traffic teams and with clients and authorities
• Visit sites to inspect and review the progress and quality of road projects

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of PTV Vissim for microsimulation and design evaluation
• Strong knowledge of IRC codes and MoRTH specifications, including pavement design (IRC:37, IRC:58) and geometric design (IRC:86, IRC:73)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Office; Civil 3D / MX Road / similar is an added advantage
• Understanding of estimation, quantity take-off and BOQ preparation
• Knowledge of PTV Visum, other transport planning tools or GIS is preferred
• Good technical writing and coordination skills
