Job summary

Gold Seal SaarGummi India Pvt Ltd in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu invites a Senior Tool & Die Technician to lead tool corrections and maintenance for EPDM rubber extrusion profiles. You will handle dies, mandrels, calibrators and tooling inserts, and coordinate with Production and Quality to resolve tool-related issues.

The role requires hands-on experience with EPDM extrusion dies, reading drawings with GD&T, and performing tool corrections through grinding, machining, polishing and fitting.

Qualifications

• 26 years of relevant experience in Tool Room, Tool Correction, Mould Maintenance or Automotive Rubber Industry.
• Hands-on experience in EPDM rubber extrusion dies, mandrels, calibrators and moulds.
• Good knowledge of tool correction, modification, fitting and polishing activities.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tool drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Tool / die correction and modification for EPDM rubber extrusion profiles.
• Handle extrusion dies, mandrels, calibrators and tooling inserts.
• Analyze profile dimensional deviations and identify required tool corrections.
• Conduct tool trials and first-off sample inspection.
• Read and interpret tool drawings, product drawings and GD&T.
• Perform tool correction through grinding, machining, polishing and fitting.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality and Tool Room for tool-related issues.
• Troubleshoot dimension, profile shape, thickness and surface-related defects.
• Conduct 5 Why / Root Cause Analysis for recurring tool problems.
• Maintain tool history, correction and modification records.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance of tools and dies.
• Reduce tool-related rejection, rework and production downtime.
• Use Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, profile projector and other measuring instruments.
• Support new tool development, trial and process improvement.
• Ensure tools meet drawing and customer specifications.
• Maintain proper tool identification, storage and traceability.
• Support continuous improvement for tool life, productivity and quality.
