Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engg or Tool & Die Engg required.
• 3–6 years of experience in sheet metal tool design preferred.
• Hands-on experience with progressive dies and stamping tools.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks/ VISI and reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop progressive dies, press tools, and tooling for sheet metal components.
• Prepare strip layouts, tool assembly drawings, and detailed component drawings.
• Perform DFM reviews and optimize tool designs.
• Develop tooling solutions for blanking, piercing, bending, and forming operations.
• Prepare and modify 2D/3D tool designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or VISI.
• Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Quality, and NPD teams during tool trials.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Tool Design Engineer with strong knowledge of sheet metal components, progressive die design, and press tool design for our automotive manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop progressive dies, press tools, and tooling for sheet metal components.
• Prepare strip layouts, tool assembly drawings, and detailed component drawings.
• Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews and optimize tool designs.
• Develop tooling solutions for blanking, piercing, bending, and forming operations.
• Prepare and modify 2D and 3D tool designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or VISI.
• Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Quality, and NPD teams during tool trials and development.
• Identify and resolve tooling and die-related problems.
• Support new product development, engineering changes (ECN), and design improvements.
• Ensure tool designs meet quality, productivity, and customer requirements.
