Job summary

Gangotri International School in India is seeking an English Teacher for middle school (Grades 6–8) to deliver CBSE-aligned instruction and foster language proficiency through engaging, student-centered methods.

The candidate should have a strong command of English grammar and literature, with prior CBSE experience, and a passion for developing students’ reading, writing, and speaking skills within an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English from a recognised university.
• B.Ed. qualification is preferred; candidates must meet applicable CBSE and school recruitment requirements.
• Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in English at the middle school level (Grades 6–8), preferably in a CBSE-affiliated school.
• Strong command of English grammar, literature, written communication, and spoken English.
• Excellent classroom management, lesson planning, and student engagement skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction according to students’ learning abilities and needs.
• Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and preparing assessments and academic documentation.
• A student-focused, innovative, and professional approach with strong interpersonal skills.
• Passion for developing students’ language skills, confidence, creativity, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Teach English to students of Grades 6 to 8 as per the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.
• Develop engaging lesson plans focusing on reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and spoken English.
• Use interactive and student-centred teaching methodologies to enhance language proficiency and communication skills.
• Strengthen students analytical thinking, creative writing, public speaking, and literary appreciation.
• Assess students learning through classwork, assignments, projects, periodic tests, and examinations.
• Monitor academic progress, identify learning gaps, and provide remedial support wherever required.
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Integrate digital tools, activities, and innovative teaching practices into classroom instruction.
• Maintain academic records, prepare question papers, evaluate answer sheets, and submit reports within deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding students academic progress and areas for improvement.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, training programmes, and other assigned academic responsibilities.
