Job description

The TGT English Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literature to students in Grades VI–X. The teacher will deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and school standards.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective English lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Teach grammar, literature, reading comprehension, creative writing, and communication skills.
  • Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
  • Use differentiated teaching strategies to address diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate digital tools and interactive teaching methodologies to enhance learning.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a love for reading and literature.
Assessment and Evaluation
  • Design and administer assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Identify students requiring additional support and conduct remedial sessions where necessary.
Classroom Management
  • Establish a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Promote discipline and positive behaviour in accordance with school policies.

Student Development
  • Develop students' communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
