Job summary

SGS India in Gurugram is seeking a laboratory professional to perform testing of toys and children's products according to international standards and customer protocols. The role involves conducting physical, mechanical, flammability, and functionality tests, preparing samples, and interpreting results.

You will maintain comprehensive lab records, ensure ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, and support method development and proficiency testing.

• Conduct physical and mechanical tests, flammability tests, functionality tests, abuse tests, and sample preparation.
• Interpret test methods, evaluate results and ensure acceptance criteria.
• Maintain testing records, worksheets, and laboratory documentation per ISO/IEC 17025.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of lab equipment and fixtures.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure timely project completion.
• Identify non-conformities and report technical issues.
• Support method development, validation and proficiency testing.
• Participate in internal audits and corrective/preventive actions.

Job description

• Perform testing of toys and children's products as per applicable international and customer-specific standards.
• Conduct physical and mechanical tests, flammability tests, functionality tests, abuse tests, and sample preparation.
• Carry out testing in accordance with standards such as ASTM F963, EN 71 Series, ISO 8124 Series, CPSIA, and other applicable customer protocols.
• Interpret test methods, evaluate results, and ensure compliance with specified acceptance criteria.
• Maintain testing records, worksheets, and laboratory documentation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and routine verification of laboratory equipment and testing fixtures.
• Coordinate with Technical, Customer Service, and Sample Registration teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Identify non-conformities during testing and immediately report technical issues or deviations.
• Support method development, validation, uncertainty estimation, and proficiency testing activities.
• Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, 5S practices, and environmental requirements.
• Deliver test results within agreed turnaround times while maintaining accuracy and technical integrity.
