Basic Overview of Division
Intertek's Hardlines Testing services enable retailers, brands and manufacturers of toys, furniture, hard‑goods and paper packaging to ensure the safety and quality of their products. Intertek performs hard‑line testing on items ranging from hard‑goods samples to finished products. We help ensure our customers meet consumer demand for high quality, minimize reputational risk, reduce environmental impacts and protect the interests of retailers, brands, hard‑lines manufacturers and consumer safety. The following product categories can be evaluated using Intertek’s hard‑lines testing services: furniture, toys, hard‑goods.
Overview of Role
Responsible for report reviewing of toys and hard‑goods. Ensure smooth flow of report verification and finalization within timelines, thereby leading to generating accurate reports and customer delight. Assist in building up processes so that quality services are provided through the testing services and build an efficient and effective team to provide services at par to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate verification of reports to be issued to clients on time as per TAT/PSD.
- Finalize reports as per the desired standard of the client within the TAT.
- Conduct the training and assessment processes for all team members based on applicability.
- Monitor and conduct training for new and existing engineers, coordinators, and report preparation colleagues as per in‑house standards.
- Conduct audit on in‑house and international test methods among technologists and coordinators, share findings and take necessary action plans to ensure 100% adherence to SOPs and test methods.
- Help the operation to correct/resolve all non‑conformance and guide teams toward preventive actions.
- Understand buyer programmes, manuals, and train the team to implement and follow these by the SOP without deviation.
- Establish new standards (global and in‑house) and increase test capability of the laboratory.
- Ensure 100% accuracy in testing through the technical solution.
- Resolve all kinds of internal and external technical queries.
- Assess divisional employees through verbal or written exam and practical demonstration of technical procedures and concepts and ensure knowledge dissemination.
- Support customers in interpreting test results and improving failure aspects.
- Visit customers as per the request to solve any technical issues and record accordingly.
- Follow up and ensure proper corrective action of internal quality audit and buyers.
- Ensure the technical terms of report compliance with regulations and buyer’s specifications.
- Implement 10X way/Lean Six Sigma methodologies and reduce wastage and errors.
- Review team’s feedback and share knowledge and information with them.
- Create an engaging culture that inspires the team to achieve outstanding results.
- Work with all cross‑functional teams, especially Operations, Quality, Sales and other key stakeholders to ensure best‑in‑class technical excellence.

- Excellent technical knowledge and business acumen in toys categories.
- Effective coordination and communication abilities – both with clients and team members.
- Proven leadership ability to inspire, develop and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
- Well aware of international standards of chemical and physical testing applicable for toys.
Professional Qualification
- B. Tech Mechanical Graduate.
Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the relevant field.
Additional Requirements
In addition to the pre‑qualification criteria provided above, the employee must have completed at least 24 months in Intertek India prior to applying for this position.
