Exavalu Solutions India Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Test Lead to manage QA for Guidewire-based insurance applications. You will define testing strategies, lead automation initiatives, and collaborate with business, development, and client teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

The role requires hands-on testing across UI and API, with strong knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter/BillingCenter and a deep understanding of P&C insurance processes.

Formación

• 10+ years of overall software testing experience.

Job Description

This is a remote position.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead with strong expertise in Guidewire testing, automation testing, and API testing to lead QA activities for Gore Mutual's insurance applications. The candidate will be responsible for defining the test strategy, leading test execution, driving automation, and working closely with business, development, and client stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter/BillingCenter, along with hands‑on experience in UI and API automation and a good understanding of P&C insurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end QA activities across Guidewire-based applications.
  
• Define and implement test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, and execution approach.
  
• Lead functional, integration, regression, system integration, and end-to-end testing.
  
• Provide technical leadership for the test automation framework and automation strategy.
  
• Design and develop automated test scripts using Java with Selenium/Playwright or equivalent automation tools.

• Understand and validate insurance business processes such as:
  
• Policy lifecycle
• Quote and bind
• New business
• Renewals
• Claims
• Billing and payments
• Identify testing risks, dependencies, and gaps and proactively communicate them to stakeholders.
  
• Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, prioritization, and resolution tracking.
  
• Coordinate with developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and client stakeholders.
  
• Review test cases and automation scripts developed by team members.
  
• Mentor QA engineers and provide technical guidance on automation and Guidewire testing.
  
• Track test execution progress, defects, automation coverage, and overall QA metrics.
  
• Participate in release planning and provide QA sign-off/recommendation.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall QA processes.
  

Mandatory Skills

• 10+ years of overall software testing experience.
  
• Strong experience in Guidewire testing, preferably PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter and/or BillingCenter.
  
• Strong understanding of P&C Insurance domain.
  
• Hands‑on experience in test automation using Java + Selenium/Playwright or similar tools.
  
• Strong experience in REST API testing and automation.
  
• Experience with Rest Assured / Postman / Karate or equivalent API testing tools.
  
• Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
  
• Experience in SIT, Regression, Integration and End-to-End testing.
  
• Strong experience in defect management and test execution leadership.
  
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  
• Ability to lead a QA team and work independently with client stakeholders.
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Guidewire Cloud.
  
• Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration/integration testing.
  
• Experience with Cucumber/BDD and TestNG/JUnit.
  
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps.
  
• Experience with Git and Maven/Gradle.
  
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter/LoadRunner.
  
• Knowledge of Guidewire integration technologies and web services.
  
• Experience working with North American insurance clients.
  
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
  
• Own the QA delivery for assigned applications/workstreams.
  
• Act as the primary QA point of contact for the client and internal stakeholders.
  
• Provide technical direction to the automation and functional testing teams.
  
• Establish automation priorities based on business risk and ROI.
  
• Ensure appropriate test coverage across UI, API, integration, database, and end-to-end layers.
  
• Proactively identify delivery risks and drive mitigation plans.
  
• Mentor team members and contribute to building QA capabilities.
