Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a QC/QA Software Tester to validate LAND software, a .NET/C# PC-based application receiving sensor data for industrial monitoring. The role emphasizes automated and manual testing, test planning, and collaboration with developers to ensure 24/7 reliability.

Experience in Windows desktop testing and ISTQB-friendly qualifications are preferred. The candidate will test across PC, web, and mobile environments, contribute to metrics, and leverage AI tools to boost testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in relevant area or equivalent experience.
• ISTQB certification preferred but not essential.
• 2+ years of Engineering/Instrumentation Software Testing experience preferred.
• Experience in developing test plans would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated and manual tests on Windows desktop applications.
• Record bugs with precise reproduction steps and effects.
• Carry out stress, performance, functional, regression and localization testing.
• Run tests across PC, web, and mobile environments.
• Assist in preparing test plans and testing metrics.

Job description

Job Description: LAND software is mostly PC based application code written for the .net framework in C#. It is designed to receive data from a range of industrial sensors and thermal imagers, analyze that data, and provide visual and communication interfaces to industrial plant control and monitoring systems. The software needs to be tested to be accurate & highly reliable in real time, usually running 24/7. The job involves very little website testing.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Mostly involved in the Quality Assurance stage of software development and deployment
• Work with software developers and stake holders for evaluating Windows desktop applications
• Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose
• Ensure any bugs or issues are recorded through the relevant process: capture the precise nature of the issue, describe effects and replication procedures
• Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional, regression and localization testing.
• Run manual and automated tests
• Test in different environments including PC, occasionally Web and Mobile
• Assist in the preparation of test plans
• Work towards departmental and project deadlines
• Assist in the preparation of software testing metrics

Experience, Professional Qualifications and Personal Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in relevant area (eg Engineering/Technology) or equivalent experience
• Certifications in Testing (eg ISTQB) preferred, but not essential
• 2years+ Engineering/Instrumentation Software Testing experience preferred
• Experience in developing test plans would be an advantage
